Beltangady: Woman falls unconscious on KSRTC bus, driver rushes vehicle to hospital

Beltangady, Oct 7: In a commendable display of presence of mind and humanity, a KSRTC bus driver and conductor rushed their bus directly to a hospital after a female passenger lost consciousness mid-journey on Tuesday October 6.

The incident occurred at around 4 pm on a KSRTC bus travelling from Davanagere to Mangaluru. The woman suddenly fainted and was left unable to speak or move. Co-passengers who noticed her condition immediately alerted the bus crew about the medical emergency.

Assessing the gravity of the situation, driver Kiran and conductor Santhosh Sangappa Gowda took prompt action. As the bus approached Kakkinje in Beltangady taluk, they diverted the vehicle straight to Sri Krishna Hospital in the vicinity. The crew ensured the distressed woman was admitted for immediate medical treatment.

Locals, including Ashraf Charmadi, Farooq Kakkinje, and Noufal Kakkinje, also stepped in to provide necessary assistance to the woman during the emergency.

The ailing passenger was later identified as Annapurna, a resident of Balehonnur. Doctors at Sri Krishna Hospital in Kakkinje have confirmed that she is currently responding to treatment and is on the path to recovery.
