Air India, Singapore Airlines expand codeshare cooperation with 126 weekly flights

New Delhi, Oct 7: Air India and Singapore Airlines have expanded their commercial cooperation to provide travellers with more flight and itinerary options between India and Singapore.

The expanded cooperation is part of the Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement signed by the two airlines in January this year. From October 15, passengers will be able to access a wider range of flight options through the booking channels of both airlines.

The arrangement covers 126 weekly flights connecting Singapore with eight Indian cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Under the existing arrangement, an eligible Air India-operated codeshare flight booked through Singapore Airlines must include a Singapore Airlines-operated flight, and vice versa.

From October 15, this requirement will be removed, allowing passengers to book eligible India-Singapore flights operated by either airline on a standalone basis through the other airline’s booking channel.

Singapore Airlines holds a 25.1 per cent stake in Air India.
