Moodbidri student dies after scooter falls near Kotebail temple

Moodbidri, Oct 8: A 17-year-old student died after the scooter he was travelling on fell at a bend near the Veera Maruthi Temple in Kotebail on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Prashchith Hegde, son of Sudhakar Hegde of Kotebail and a student of Jain Pre-University College.

The incident occurred when Prashchith and Deekshith Hegde were travelling from Shirtaadi towards Kotebail on a scooter. Prashchith suffered severe head injuries in the fall, while Deekshith also sustained injuries to his head.

Both were immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. However, Prashchith succumbed to his injuries despite medical attention.

A case has been registered at Moodbidri police station.
