Bangalore: No Felicitations Please, People are Facing Drought: CM

Bangalore, Apr 2: With almost two-thirds of the 176 taluks in Karnataka or as many as 123 taluks facing severe drought conditions, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda frowned upon any plans for organising felicitations for him or for any ruling BJP leaders in the State.

''Tackling drought conditions and ameliorating the hardships faced by people in the drought affected taluks, supply of drinking water and ensuring availability of fodder for the cattle while providing gainful employment to the drought-hit people should be our first priority,” he said.

Speaking to reporters at his home office, Krishna, in Bangalore on Monday, the chief minister flatly opposed holding of conventions to felicitate leaders of the party.
He said he was unaware of a function planned to felicitate him for presenting Rs one lakh crore State budget.

Karnataka Forest Minister C P Yogeshwar had announced last week that a mammoth convention would be organised on a mega scale at Palace Grounds in Bangalore to felicitate the Chief Minister for presenting the “people-friendly” budget.

Indirectly taking a dig at former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for whom the party workers organised conventions in Hubli and Shimoga to mark his 70th birthday, Sadananda Gowda said: ''Instead of spending money for holding felicitations and conventions, the same amount could be used to drill borewells to ensure drinking water to drought-hit villages.”

Incidentally, Municipal Administration Minister Balakrishna Jarakiholi had also indicated that he was planning to organise a massive public function to felicitate the Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.

Jarakiholi, it may be recalled, had been publicly supporting Sadananda Gowda and had even met the BJP national leaders including party national president Nitin Gadkari and senior leader L K Advani in Delhi recently.

A good gesture anyway but the reason behind no Felicitations is the drought or otherwise?.Dear CM your working style is good, continue with your good works, sure the rain 'GOD' will give a helping hand, signalling with a sign of recent frequent showers in some parts karnataka.

This shows the "True Leadership Qualities". Atleast this man can "Sense and Express" his feelings for the common man's problems!!!!. There is a old saying.... Where there is a Will..., there is a Way...
I am sure, Mr. D.V. Sadananda Gowda may have to go through a lot of hurdles from his own colleagues (MLA's)in the coming days to come in Karnataka Politics. We wish him Good Luck and become a more "People Friendly C.M and a "Popular Leader" too & the most important is to complete his "Full Term".

What a joke. The people around karnataka plan a rally to felicitate the Chief Minister for presenting the “people-friendly” budget. What you see at the assembly is surprising .The session had only half of the BJP MLA's and rest from congress and JDS.The other half boycott the assembly session for a day seeking the removal of DVS and placing Eddy as CM.

Please initiate rain harvesting at all farming areas by building bunds. Allow private companies to start water recycling plants, reverse osmosis plants. Projects to bring water from north to south all this can help solve the problem. There is a saying if you give a man a fish you feed him for a day - you teach him to fish you feed him for life.

    Birthday bash

    Conventions

    seminar

    Chintan Manthan

    Caste/Community based gatherings

    'Naari' Snagama

The above few gimmicks are registered trademark of BJP, which resorted these kind of "DUNDU VECHAS"in four years.Last 2-3 Lunch/Break fast gatherings of bi block MLAs of BJP need to be looked in to humanity point of view because half the area of Karnataka has drought lacking potable water for human survival while these BJP MLAs blessed with 'golden spoons'having break fast/Dinner food from star hotel.Believe me that day they even took bath from MINERAL WATER.This is what irresponsible BJPwalas enjoying while poor are struggling for drinking water. Wide spread condemnation about their resort stay,B.Fast/Lunch politics might bothered DVS in cancelling/avoiding Parties......

CM.DVS is Better than EX CM. BYS. he is only speaking, But DVS is in action. at least he can understand people's problem. but BYS only thinking about his Chair. if he realy want to work, he can work without CM post also. simply he is making function and spending so much of mony, at end result is zero. that is why he is became Big Zero. better to send him for National level Politics. Jai Ho DVS.

    God bless you DVS.

BJP has at least few good leaders.

No doubt, DVS is the best CM in India at present. We are very lucky to have such a good heart person as our CM.

Without Yeddy's trouble, he would have done more for the state.

Yeddy is still celebrating his 70th birthday :-) He will continue the same till his next birthday since he is jobless.
