Jerusalem, Oct 11: Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers continued searching the area around Arab el-Aramsha in the Western Galilee near the Lebanese border on Sunday morning after an unidentified aerial object was detected entering Israeli territory on Saturday night.
The incident began at around 8 pm on Saturday, when hostile aircraft infiltration alerts were activated in the area. Searches resumed at first light on Sunday as the military investigated the incident and sought to rule out a potential security threat.

A military source told Israeli media outlet Walla that IDF detection systems had identified a foreign object entering Israeli territory. Initial concerns centred on the possibility of a drone or unmanned aerial vehicle, although the possibility that it was a powered paraglider could not be ruled out.
Searches initially focused on Arab el-Aramsha before being extended to other locations along the border, the source said.
The IDF confirmed that its surveillance systems had detected an unidentified aerial object near the Lebanese border and that troops were continuing their searches. No unusual findings had been reported so far, and no special instructions had been issued to civilians.
The incident follows several hostile aircraft infiltration alerts in the Upper Galilee last month.
On September 2, alerts were activated in Dafna, Hagoshrim, Kfar Yuval and Ma'ayan Baruch, prompting the launch of interceptor missiles. Following an initial investigation, the IDF assessed that the alerts had been triggered by a false target.
Further alerts were activated on September 10 in several communities, including Ghajar, Kfar Yuval and Hagoshrim. The military later confirmed that the detection in that incident was also a false alarm.
