Gurgaon-Chandigarh Volvo Buses a Hit


Gurgaon, Apr 3 (IANS): The luxury Volvo buses launched Monday between Gurgaon in Haryana and Chandigarh via Delhi are already a hit.

The first batch of the Haryana Roadways service was flagged off by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Monday from Haryana Bhawan in Delhi, an official said.

The Gurgaon and Chandigarh depots of Haryana Roadways now have nine buses, each costing Rs.85 lakh. Sixteen more are likely to be introduced in May.

The bus service is available from Gurgaon bus stand from 12.30 a.m. and 11 p.m. Seats in these super luxury buses can be booked online.

The one way fare from Gurgaon is Rs.595 while passengers boarding in Delhi pay Rs.510.

The buses ply through the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, Karnal and Chandigarh.
