Bengaluru, Oct 20: An Air India Express flight travelling from Visakhapatnam to Bengaluru made an emergency landing at Kempegowda International Airport after a bird hit the aircraft.

All 148 passengers on board escaped without injuries. Despite the incident, the aircraft completed its journey and was moved to a parking stand after landing.

Airport engineers and technical teams followed standard safety procedures and carried out the necessary checks to assess any possible damage to the aircraft or its engines. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.

A similar incident was reported on Saturday when an Air India flight scheduled to operate from Delhi to Pune was affected by a bird strike, leading to the cancellation of the flight.

Earlier, an Emirates flight from Dubai to Delhi was delayed after a bird strike on October 17. Flight EK517 reportedly encountered the incident while landing near Terminal 3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport at around 3.10 pm.

In a statement, Air India Express said the bird strike had caused a slight delay and that hotel accommodation had been arranged for affected passengers.
