Mangalore, Apr 3:
In a unique step inititated by the state government, deputy commissioners of all the districts in the state had an interactive session with chief minister Sadananda Gowda via video conference on Tuesday April 3. The conference started at 4 pm and lasted for almost three hours.

In his turn, Dakshina Kannada district DC Dr N S Channappa Gowda requested the CM to release Rs 2 crore for water supply in the district. He said as the water level in Thumbay had gone down, water supply to Mulky and Ullal township was reduced, and  is being supplied through tankers. Out of the 83 places that face water scarcity in DK district, Kolnad, Vagga, Naringana and Fajir have been facing severe crisis, he said.

As soon as the request was placed, the CM consented and asked if there were any issues with regard to Sakala project. The DC said that in Puttur where Sakala was brought into practice on a pilot basis, cent percent success was achieved. Also, in the district, out of the 1,511 applications received, 720 were disposed off within one and a half days after it was inaugurated on Monday April 2. The DC also assured the CM that the district will stand first in implementing Sakala project.

About the quality and types of food in Anganawady centres in the district, the DC said that a committee meeting has taken place already and the type of food to be given to children has been already decided.

Earlier, the CM interacted with DCs of all the district (with ZP CEOs in case the DC was on leave or absent) and sought the stand of the respective districts with regard to drought, drinking water, cattle preservation, employment guarantee projects, Sakala, state of task forces and so on.

ZP CEO Dr K N Vijayprakash and additional DC Dayanand were present during the video conference held at the DC’s office.

At the end of the conference, the CM pointed out that after the interaction with the DCs, he had realized that issues raised by the opposition parties in the assembly session were far from reality. However, he urged the DCs to monitor problems in their respective districts and combat it at the earliest.

Yes Dear Dinesh Poojary, Kundapura/Bengaluru you are absolutely right, the congress leaders do not even how to use many good functions of the mobile phone also. They do not use sms and mms facilities like BJP leaders do even at restricted places.
The CM should continue working like this,by having ideas from IAS officers there could be better inputs for the developments of the state. The IAS cadre is recruited for the developments of the state and not for signing files of builders and developers.
They should plan the roads and infrastructure of the state. They should demand the state for widening the roads to avoid accidents. The DC should ask the CM to make service roads on NH passing through the Mangalore districts so Toll collections are not affected to the local people.
