Tehran, Oct 25: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has called for serious efforts to secure the Iranian people’s rights and obtain compensation for material and non-material damages caused by the US-Israeli attacks on the country.
The issues were highlighted during a meeting between Khamenei and Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, according to a statement published on the supreme leader’s website on Saturday.
The meeting also focused on promoting justice, safeguarding public rights, effectively combating corruption and its root causes, and ensuring that judicial cases are handled promptly, accurately and decisively.

Other priorities included enforcing judicial rulings in a timely manner to ensure their deterrent effect and bringing about a “comprehensive and tangible” transformation in the country’s judicial system.
Khamenei also stressed the need to formulate plans and make determined efforts to combat crimes and pursue the restoration of Iranian citizens’ rights, including compensation for material and non-material damages resulting from what the statement described as “crimes perpetrated by the US-Israeli criminals,” Xinhua news agency reported.
On February 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and other Iranian cities. Iran retaliated with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US bases and assets across the region, while tightening its control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump on Friday raised the possibility of renewed military strikes against Iran, claiming that the United States could seize the country’s oil resources or even take over the entire country.
“Iran is not able to do much now. And we could, if we wanted to, just take all of the oil,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a rally in Florida. “We could take the whole country.”
Asked about US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz’s statement that the conflict with Iran could continue for another year, Trump said the United States could bring it to an end quickly.
“We could end it very quickly ... The question is, ‘Do we want to finish it off or do we just want to let it wither?’” he said.
Later, during the Florida rally, Trump again suggested that another military operation against Iran could be launched.
“We may do another little Epic Fury,” he told attendees, referring to the large-scale US military operation against Iran launched on February 28 alongside a coordinated Israeli offensive.
Trump’s latest remarks came amid reports that the US and Israeli militaries had drawn up plans for renewed strikes against Iran following the US midterm elections.
However, whether Trump will ultimately authorise another military operation remains uncertain, according to US media reports.
