Beijing, Apr 4 (IANS): A mother of three children in China was hospitalised when she took pesticide after giving it to her kids, causing her two daughters to suffer kidney failure.
Tang Chengfang, 27, added pesticide to sugar and fed it to her two daughters, aged five and seven, and 8-month-old son in Sichuan province's Dazhu county. She then consumed it herself, reported China Daily.
A doctor said all the three kids were unable to eat and could barely speak because their throat had been seriously damaged.
Tang's husband Li Heyuan was working away as a carpenter in Fujian province when the incident took place. He said his wife might have been too tired bringing up the children. "She may have (suffered) depression."
Li earns 3,000 yuan ($470) per month. Until Tang gave birth to their third child last year, they all used to live together.
