Mangalore: Sr M Joy Appointed Provincial Superior of North-Eastern Province

Mangalore, Apr 4: Sr M Joy has been appointed as the provincial superior of the North-Eastern Province of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany. Currently, she is the tertian directress in the Congregation based at Rosa Mystica Convent, Kinnikambla.

Born to late J M Monteiro and Alice Monteiro, Bantwal, Modankap parish, Sr Joy holds a licentiate in depth psychology from Gregorian University, Rome. She has a vast experience in educational, formation and administration ministries. She has teaching and administrative experience in the schools of north-eastern state of Assam. Sr Joy has also served in the formation ministry as novice directress, tertian directress, spiritual guide and counselor. She has conducted numerous courses and workshops. 

Sr Joy was the general councillor to the superior general for a period of two terms of 12 years when she was formation coordinator of the Congregation as well as the secretary of the Bethany Educational Society.
 
Her younger sister, Sr Matilda Monteiro has taken charge of Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province of the Sisters of Charity.
