Mangalore, Apr 5: A group of Bajrang Dal activists forcibly stopped a vehicle that was transporting cattle here in the wee hours of Thursday April 5.

The incident occured at Ladyhill circle at around 4.30 am.

Five people armed with weapons were reportedly transporting the cattle to Kudroli when they were stopped by a group of 20-25 Bajrang Dal activists who had received prior information on it. Looking at the big group, the five men despite having weapons fled leaving behind the cattle and the Bolero pick-up vehicle.

The Bajrang Dal activists seized the cattle and the vehicle and handed them over to Barke police station. The cattle comprise 10 cows, two buffaloes and five calves, totally 17.

The activists alleged that the cattle were being transported illegally.

Barke police took the cattle and the vehicle into possession. A case has been registered.

Some BD supporters commented Cows to be respected as mother, guys who think so please take care of the cows which you see on roads every day feed them, give them good bath and proper shelter. And all the animal lovers should do it with all animals and stop eating any kind of meat. Also do take initiative in social activities rather than only looking for people who celebrate Valentines day, eat beef, trasnport cows, who party. There are many people in Orphan ages and without support please do these good deeds. There is police to take care of the things you are into.

Those who eat beef once, forget all meat. Guys it's so tasty, just enjoy it, forget bill.
If govt allows cattle transport without restrictions, people won't dump cows this way. These are not good for milking. These Gomatha's are sold by our own majority people for Good sum. As they don't afford to feed them without milking. No one is ready keep Gomatha without profit. Double standard??? Bluffing God?

It is a wrong thinking that animals are borne to be the food of men. Every living being has the right to live with dignity Only human beings violate the natures law of equal opportunity. I am a retired military personnal who still remain vegetarian by choice by realising that human being has no right to take away the life of animals. I am lokking after 14 cows (all desi cows) at home and using their dung and urine for natural farming. I get a good output from them. It is a wrong thinking that old animals are useless. Will you kill your family members when they become old and unable to work? Please realise the fact that we are borne as human beings and should use the human life meaningfully.

If u want ban cow slaughtering in india but plz export cow's to foreign countries. Or else it will be problems for both human beings and cows. Cows population will br more, and u will find many cows on street , which will definitely occur more accidents. Cannot see goumatha suffering in accidents.

Folks, This is just a Drama by BD memebers. Trust me, if u pay 'Hafta' to BD top leaders regulary, nobody will touch you. Even if some BD members catch you inspite of giving Hafta, within minutes they will get calls from top leaders of the Organistaion and they will let you go. Still now one of my friend's relatives running cattle business and believe me, nobody had the courage to touch them.
It's so funny that BD gets prior information more before than Police dept. Anyways, culprits should get maximum punishment for this inhuman act.

Yes its stage managed and executed by the BJP just to bring in anti cow slaughter bill. How come these 17 cows are transported in one single tiny vehicle?? Where were the police? Who informed BD? When BD were in 25 nos, why could not they catch 5 cattle smugglers?? How does BD come to know these people are armed??? Why police didnt file a FIR for carrying illegal weapons??? Why only BD are aware of cattle trade and why not other hindu organisations?? Why not SRS and RSs involved??? What police action been taken?? Why police have let the BDs to go home, though they dont have any authority apprehend any one?? Who gave BD the authority to act like Police???

Who is not eating beef and beef products in our state??? Which traders are benefitting and earning their bread from the cattle hide trade??? What will happen to redudant cattles??? Even mouse is sacred animal and its the official animal of Lord Ganesh. Why we are killing rats?? Why there is no ban on killing of rats...Even crow is considered as our ancestors...why the crows are not bred and kept as domestic pets.?? Why we allow the crows to feed on human wastes???The list goes on...BD and its supporters should answer all these questions...But they dont know and ignorant..They are just acting at the behest of their political mentors..

Even the buffalo head at temple in kasaragod was planned and stage managed by sangh parivar to incite communual tension and ride high on emotions...just for vote bank politics...BJP is a party with lots of difference both in preaching and practicing...Can the RTO tell us to whom this Bolero belongs to...Please make its owners name public. Again well planned move.. this vehicle is rented.. so owner is irrelevant here....ha..ha...

It's true that there is shortage of milk and milk products in south Karnataka and north Kerala. Why can't the Karnataka Govt start a multi million dairy project cum training center so that 1000's of cow protector's can have the white colour job. This will create good qulaity milch animals which can give 30 to 40 lit of milk/day. If so our farmers will not look after this local, useless, skeleton breeds which produce 1 or 2 lit/day.Dairy business is the best business and our children can have precious food in our own home.

Maatha or Gomaatha whose concern is this? Why do we find so many aged in the oldage homes. Who drives them there? Who sells the gomaatha? Why does he sell? It is the combination of circumstances. Poverty, selfishness, concernless for other life. It is the hypocritical way of life of Indians. They make use of cattle or the elderly as long as it suits and then put them on the road. In Europe they rear the animals for food only and no sentiments attached. In India we don't want to spend on spent animal, we want meat for eating or for the dog, because it is cheaper and healthy, but pretend to venerate ....

This is not the way how animals should be transported. At the same time, this is not the way how BD should act. They are not the law makers. They should have intimated the police and let the police do their job. In such situations, police should shop such groups from doing so and punish them too. If Bajarangi's n other local troops do this, then why is police in force? It's a big shame to the police department.

People consume beef in Europe, but everything goes in very systematic way there. Last year Karnataka Rakshana Vedike caught one lorry with cows and buffaloes inside. To their shock they saw animals mouth was stitched !

Yes, illegal activities has to be stopped. But through a system. When BD gets prior information, they should have gone there with Police and allowed them to take action. That becomes proper way of handling the issue. Here, BD can even check how quickly police will act. If Police does not act, then BD can take up the issue with concerned authority and clean the system. Just imagine, if the 5 people who had weapons resisted and if there was violent fight....Hence, my request to BD, if you have good intention of stopping illegal activities, do it through police so that you will be appreciated for cleaning the system. But taking law in hand sends wrong signal and its not a healthy way of handling the problem.
