Chinese School Bans Contact Between Sexes

Beijing, Apr 5 (IANS): A Chinese school does not allow female and male students to show up on campus in pairs.

A student complained that the school in Hangzhou also insists that the distance between boys and girls should be at least 50 centimetres and they cannot have meals at the same table, China Daily reported.

The school's vice headmaster, surnamed Yuan, said there was only a ban on female and male students spending time alone and the other two bans were misunderstood by students.

He added that the prohibition was to prevent male and female students from having too much close contact.
