Dubai, Apr 7: Zulekha Hospitals both here and in Sharjah, part of the Zulekha Healthcare Group, was bestowed with the coveted Dubai Quality Award by H H Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai, at a glittering award ceremony held at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Zulekha Hospital is the first brand in its category in the UAE to receive the quality recognition
The ceremony was conducted under the patronage of is Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to recognize organizations being conferred with the Dubai Quality Award, Dubai Human Development Award and Dubai Service Excellence Scheme for the 2012 cycle.
On receiving the award, Dr Zulekha Daud - founder and managing director of Zulekha Hospitals, said; “It is an honour for us to receive an award under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed. Recognition always motivates us and helps us to strive for the best in everything we do. The unique thing about the excellence model is it gives a holistic approach of running an organization. It emphasises on knowing and addressing the needs of all stake holders and in the process achieve and sustain continual improvement.”

In December 2010, both the Hospitals were accredited by Joint Commission International, which accredits the highest number of hospitals in the world. The laboratory at Zulekha Hospitals in Dubai has been audited by College of American Pathologists (CAP) and awaiting result. The diagnostic centre at Dubai is also awaiting the ISO 15189 audit.
