The drivers in udupi / mangalore are young and driving very rash doesn't care for traffic rules rules and regulations. The most of the accidents are happening due to competition and overtake. Now expansion of highway will definitely cause more accidents. On opening of expanded lanes of the highway, people (specially old)are not in a position to cross. This will lead to more accidental injuries / deaths on the highway. The RTA / Trafiic Police dept. is in the hands of private transport operators, who are small time politicians and bribing them in case of any accidents.

The State Govt. should take strict action against errant drivers by cancelling their licence lifetime and imprisonment with a heavy penalty.

This is strange as to how two vehicles hit head-on during the daytime. The driver of the tanker must have been drunk and may have been carrying liquor to take it to Kerala for business as there are many cases like this.

These kinds of head-on collisions seems to be like a tug-of war situations as both are trying to race with each other and either both are killed or injured. I do not know how these accidents happen during day time. JP Hegde please do something with these fatal accidents.
