Stuntman's Death: Police Case Registered, No Arrest


Greater Noida, Apr 9 (IANS): A criminal case was registered against unidentified people Sunday, a day after a stuntman plunged to his death while rappelling down a 60-foot building during the inauguration of an adventure mall in Greater Noida, police said. No one has been arrested.

Stuntman Shailendra Singh Bisht, 30, was coming down the glass-walled mall Saturday when he lost his grip on the rope after crossing more than half way to the bottom and fell to his death from a height of 40 feet at the Great Adventure Mall here.

Superintendent of Police, Greater Noida, Ashok Kumar said a complaint was registered under Indian Penal Code sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 304A (causing death by negligence) against unidentified people.

Bisht sustained multiple injuries in the incident and died on the spot.

A native of Chinkot village in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district, Bisht was part of an adventure group that was performing at the mall.
