Bangalore: Twenty Books by Sandhya Pai Released at a Glittering Ceremony

Bangalore, Apr 9: Twenty books including a series of children's stories authored by Sandhya Pai, editor of Taranga, a Kannada monthly by Manipal Media Group, Udupi were released during a function held at J S S Auditorium, here on Sunday April 8.

Manipal Media Network Limited managing director T Satish Pai released two editions of 'Priya Odugare' , singer Dr Vidhyabhushan released 'Bhajagovindam', actress Neetu released English edition of 'Konkani Randap', and Harikata child artiste Tushara L Acharya released 16 books of children’s stories, during a function organized by Sneha Book House here on Sunday.

Speaking at the occasion, singer Dr Vidhyabhushan said that Sandhya Pai is gifted with a sensitivity towards the society and its flaws, and makes efforts to reform it. He hoped the society takes the message in good spirit, said Dr Vidhyabhushan.

Dr Vidhyabhushan stressed that books such as 'Bhajagovindam' are essential to reform the society plagued with all sorts of evils.

The actor Srinivas Prabhu said that positive thinking, striving for betterment, love and zest for living are exemplified in the books authored by Sandhya Pai.

"Sandhya Pai is dear to children, is a counsellor to women, and a matured spiritual thinker, which makes her a multi-faceted author," added Prabhu.

Sandhya Pai said, "Life is a mystery. It has sorrows and joys, and they come in tandem, and both do not last long. My ideas on life I have shared among the readers who have always acknowledged my writings with delight. Also, I will always remember the support from my family and the publishers."

Actress Neetu said that she is a Konkan and the cookery book 'Konkani Randpam' is her favourite. She was happy to release a book for the first time in her life, she added.

Veteran journalist Jayasheela Rao in his presidential address said that he was happy about the fact that 20 vivid books were released in a single programme. He also commended the herculean efforts put in by Sandhya Pai in authoring them.

T Satish U Pai and Sandhya Pai were felicitated on the occasion.

Sneha Book House publisher Parashivappa delivered the introductory speech. Udayavani, Kannada daily Mangalore bureau chief Manohar Prasad compered the programme. Kiran Prasad Rajanahalli proposed the vote of thanks.
