Bangalore: DVS Cancels Foreign Tour, says he Did Not Do Under Pressure

Bangalore, Apr 12 (PTI):
Apparently stung by BJP strongman B S Yeddyurappa's criticism on him planning a foreign tour when the state is facing drought,Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda cancelled his April 16 trip, but said he was not under pressure to do so from anybody and had acted on his 'inner voice.'

"I decided against the foreign tour not under pressure from anybody in the party. my inner voice is my advisor and I take decisions listening to it. Nobody else advises me," he told reporters on the sidelines of 47th convocation of Bangalore University.

The remark comes in the wake of Yeddyurappa's statement in Gulbarga suggesting Gowda cancel the foreign tour when the state is reeling under drought. Gowda was scheduled to go on a foreign tour from April 16 to attract investors in Karnataka.

Gowda also said he didn't want to react to media reports claiming he took decisions on others advice.

About the decision of the Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan to release 2 TMC water from Dudhganga and Varuna, Gowda said "this will mitigate the drinking water scarcity in North Karnataka."

Gowda also said he has sent a letter to the Revenue Department to settle payment issues with Maharashtra over release of water from their side.

On Governor H R Bharadwaj abstaining from BU convocation, Gowda said he has left for neighbouring Kerala for some urgent work "as he is governor of both states.

Gowda said he was unaware of the Governor reportedly rejecting the list of people to be conferred with honorary doctorates.

University officials said the list was rejected as it had 'procedural flaws'. As per rules, bio data of all those in the list has to be collated and their profiles scrutinised by the university Syndicate. The Syndicate will then approve a final list that will be recommended to the Governor.

Bhuvan Manipur, yes, politicians do not want to see any difficult facing by common man in front of their foreign tour. In fact these kinds of foreign tours are tailor made for them and they can use it as attracting FDI or VISWA Kannada Sammealana in forign soils(during Yeddy's time dozens of ministers and MLAs were visited USA in the name V.K.Sammelana when we had having floods in U.Kannada.)The turn of event was nothing but ..................................

Mr. Sadananda Gowda has taken right decision, other wise that corrupt yeddi would have snatched the power in his absence.Hope Mr. Sadananda Gowda will work for the goodness of the people and become "Modi of Karnataka" soon. The place for corrupt people should be behind the bar for ever.

Good decision by Mr.DVS. Almost all the previous CM's, Ministers ,Mayors, and Corporators of Karnataka made foreign trips using public money for various reasons. The total expenditure of the Ministers doubles the total budget of Karnataka.

Keep on hearing DEVELOPMENT from each and every ministers from all party . I am confused what they really meant DEVELOPMENT.

General public must get the right to question any public servant or Govt.Officials.

Almost all of us shocked to know about the expenses of Indian Presidents foreign trips.

    DO WE DESERVE THIS ?????
