SpiceJet Makes Precautionary Landing at Mumbai Airport


New Delhi, Apr 13 (IANS): Budget carrier SpiceJet said that its Ahmedabad-to-Chennai flight carrying 106 passengers and crew made a precautionary landing at Mumbai airport early Friday morning due to a minor technical glitch.

According to the airline, the pilot of the flight SG 281 from Ahmedabad to Chennai decided to land at Mumbai after he detected a technical glitch.

"It was a precautionary landing and in order to avoid inconvenience to the passengers on board Ahmedabad-Chennai flight," the company said in a statement.

"We proactively accommodated them in our other flight and on other airlines as well. All passengers have departed from Mumbai for their respective destinations," said the statement.

The statement added that the aircraft which developed the minor glitch is now fully operational and has flown back to Chennai with passengers at 11.30 a.m.

The flight took off from Ahmedabad at 5.45 a.m. and landed safely at Mumbai airport at 6.50 a.m.
