Udupi: Circulation of Fake Currency Notes - Innocents Get Cheated

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Apr 17: A large number of innocent people from the district, it is gathered, are facing problems because of high circulation of currency notes of Rs 500 denomination in the district. People living in villages are most gullible to this kind of cheating.

The fact that they are taken for a ride comes into the open when these villagers, who visit towns for business or selling their produce, try to deposit the cash they so get, into their bank accounts. The bank branches too come under pressure because of the fake currency notes which get mixed with genuine notes, while being presented to them.

Although they are required to file police complaints in such cases by collecting full details from the customers, many a times, particularly when the persons tendering cash is an important clients, it is gathered, the bank employees inform the concerned about the fake notes in private, and destroy the notes.

Fake notes normally are circulated by people who want to pose a threat to the economic stability of the country. It is suspected that people, who have high status in the society because of their wealth, get involved with sale of drugs and circulation of fake notes by having links with foreign-based rackets. A large chunk of nation’s wealth gets siphoned off this way.

It is believed that a number of educated youth from the district have also have got involved with the fake notes racket, having been lured by the enticement to make fast buck. Their lust for wealth is robbing the rural people, who work hard for every rupee, of their hard-earned money and mental peace. If these rural people get involved with police inquiry because of the fake notes in their possession, they also face embarrassment and ridicule in the public.

The people hope that the police and intelligence agencies will root out these corrupt weeds and allow the people to live in peace.

Fake notes are circulating in Mangalore also through Money Exchange Centres. The beneficiary who received cash from one of the money exchange centre from Mangalore during Christmas Season 2011, had one fake note of Rs. 500. Any person while collecting cash from Exchange Centre will not be checking for the genuinity of the currency. They will come to know only when they deposit the cash at any Bank. At the end of the day, Innocents are cheated.

Please some may know it ,
some may not...However here's the ultimate test of a Rs 500 note
    as to it's authencity ??
    1) Fold it Four-fold'
    2)Keep it on a table.
    3) Bang it with all your might
    4) Now,Open the note fully.
    5) On observation now, if you find that the Mahatma's spectacles are still in tact, then then it is a genuine note...
    If not well....now you know!
    FootNote:
    Nowaday's when everything's 'fake'there's no harm in having a genuine laugh-is there?Moreover- It won't cost us anything!

As Dr Kamath has said educating the public to find out the fake currency is a must. There should certainly be some difference in original's and fake's. I dont understand how the Restaurent cashier's tell you from fake and the original, they just have a list it seems, I dont understand from where they get the list. Thank God we have Nagesh to remind us the misdeed's of Congress and the good deed's of BJP every now and then, as we are very forgetful,we have to thank him also. Only thing is to educate people to use Credit and ATM card's to stop this menance. How to solve the problem at village level, better to ask the buyer of goods to deposit the money in the Bank. I think people can come up with many solutions we just have to put our mind to it.

You have conciously missed the name of Malappuram in Kerala which could be deemed as mini Pakistan where hindus are in minority there also. But believe me it is the most peaceful district in India with no communal coflicts or fights ever.People live harmoneously since years.Anti social activities are at minimum.

Fake notes are circulatiing in our country from qite some time, its basically an economic war which pakistan is playing, I have heard of this modus oprendi, I wont get in details, but its very tough to nab the culprits red handed. Its a very hot activity in Kerala, Tamil nadu, Karnataka and A.P. Firstly all people visitng the country especially from the Middle East with huge sums of cash in Indian Rupees should be examined and checked for the authenticity of the notes, if true or counterfiet. Half the problem will be solved.
