Bangalore : Home Minister's 'Son' Arrested at IPL Match

Bangalore, Apr 17: 26-year-old Rakesh Gowda, who claimed to be the son of R Ashok, home minister of Karnataka, was almost successful in fooling the police, until he got arrested while watching IPL match between Rajastan Royals and Royal Challengers here on Sunday April 15.

Rakesh and Satish

Rakesh Gowda contacted Cubbon Park police station, claiming to be the son of the home minister and saying that he needed a VVIP pass to watch the match along with his friend and another boy who is a minor. Believing Rakesh by the way he talked, the police immediately arranged entry pass worth about Rs 55,000 and all three were escorted by the police till they were inside the stadium.

But Rakesh did one mistake that proved too costly for his own good. While talking to the police personnel Rakesh raised his voice at him, and abused him when told that last moment it would be difficult to arrange VVIP passes. But later the police did arrange P-2 gate passes.

However, smelling something fishy, the Cubbon Park police official contacted the personal assistant of R Ashok, and enquired about his son. The police learnt from the PA that R Ashok has no son by the name of Rakesh!

The trio watching the 'Royals' match were 'royally' rounded up by the police and arrested. After thorough enquiry, it was found that the cricket-crazy Rakesh who hails from a poor background had no money to watch the match. His father is a flower-seller in market. He borrowed good clothes from his friends, and acted as the minister's son to get entry into the stadium!

Rakesh almost had the police clean bowled, but unfortunately for him it turned out to be a no ball!

Dear Jaimini, I agree with you that "the person who fooled Police is a daring, intelligent man... but used his intelligence in a wrong way". But I cannot agree with your comment "Ayena Mone Lorry Cleaner lekka undu...". Yes, I agree WE ARE SENTIMENTAL PEOPLE. You may call it "unfortunately". But for me, fortunately Indians are sentimental and sensitive people. Yes, I am sensitive person. That is why I cannot digest your comment "Ayena Mone Lorry Cleaner lekka undu...". For your information i always read and like your comments on various news and subjects.

    Mr.Austin..Unnecessarily,you created a scene here..
    1.Did I say "cleaner is criminal" ?
2.Did I say "cleaner is fraud"?
    3.Did I say "cleaner is untouchable ?"
I don't judge person by his face/education/religion..If you compare my comment with your neighbour cleaner..Sorry,I can't help. Here, almost all people always talk bad about Police Dept. Did you think any time how their family members think if they read comments.Police are also human beings. BUT...Generally,in India police are corrupt(not whole dept).
If you say, these type of comments hurt sentiments..I think NO MOVIE will be released.Because film story hurts sentiments of police/teacher/priest/driver/housemaid..etc etc..But one has to take it in a right spirit like English.Unfortunately WE,Indians LACK IT..WE ARE SENTIMENTAL PEOPLE..
Anyway, the person who fooled Police is a daring, intelligent man.He made Police to escort him till cricket stadium with VIP tickets. But he used his intelligence in a wrong way.Actually,he should have been in RAW or IB .It would have been a great help to country.

Just for your information dear Jaimini, my neighbour who cleans cars in apartments and also lorry is 52 year old. He has 4 children studying in college. Sometimes his son who is doing Bcom also helps him. I don't think this 52 year old lorry cleaner or his son will rule film Industry but he rules our heart with their dedicated service.

Dear Jaimini, good humor should not hurt anybody. I know, your intention is not to hurt. But imagine if a lorry cleaner or his friend or his wife or his son/daughter reads your comment. Your humour surely hurts them. And please don't judge the impact of any message or article based on "LIKE"s.

Mr.Austin..I am very well aware of the fact that Super Star Rajnikant was a bus conductor. Legend actor Dilip Kumar was a fruit vendor..Sometimes you have to take it in a humourous way or sportive way(many took it in that way-check LIKE)..Anyway,I wish good luck to your neighbour lorry cleaner ..who knows one day HE MAY RULE FILM INDUSTRY..!!

Rakesh has such guts to fool the Cubbon Park police officials to get VVIP pass to watch the IPL Match. He told that he was a son of Home Minister which seemed to be false and he tried to get three VVIP passes for himself, Satish and a minor. Now they can watch the matches in the jail.

Is there any law in India say's that a VVIP pass has to be arranged to the Kith and Kin of the Minister's, rubbish. Anyway I failed to see the inverted coma's may be I am not much of a Journalist. By the bye I remembered a joke when Mr. K R Prabhu commented " Toolaya Aayaana Mone", this goes long back when I was a in High School. The fact of matter is a kid's father in our neighbourhood purchased a new Jeans pant for him. He came to my Mom and told her that his dad had brought him a Toolaya Jeans Pant. My Mom not aware much about jeans asked me what was Toolaya Jeans Pant and our neighbour kid had one. I was not able to figure it out even after seeing the pant. After a long time say months some how it was figured out that during those day's when some one wore a Jeans other youngster's is to point and say " Toolaya Jeans Pad de", so we assumed that the kid thought it to be the name of the Jeans, we never confirmed with him. Now he might have grown up and with his kids.
