Abu Dhabi, Apr 19 : Preparations are under way by USWAS-Shirva in Abu Dhabi to stage the Konkani comedy play 'Ootre Uzwadlem' at the main auditorium of Indian Social and Cultural Centre (ISC), Abu Dhabi on April 27. The organizers USWAS have promised to start the event by 3 pm in the afternoon and end by 7.15 pm. Tickets are already on sale and drawing steady demand from the drama lovers.

The play will be staged as part by USWAS-Shirva (an association of Shirva parishioners in the UAE) as part of its decennial year celebrations to promote Konkani language, art and culture. The proceedings of this event will be used for the various welfare projects taken up by USWAS for its decennial year.

“Ootre Uzwadlem!!!” is written and directed by young playwright, director and actor Pradeep Barboza, Paladka. He has written seven dramas to date. He has shown his immense dramatic skills with numerous plays successfully performed all over India and in the Gulf, and is once again set to perform in ‘Ootre Uzwadlem’.

The play would be performed by Sangon Mugdhana Kalakars where the youngsters have been trained by Pradeep to perform in front of the public. Sangon Mugdhana Kalakars are all set to put on hard efforts to tickle the audience with their comical skills and performance.

After a jam-packed audience show at the Shaikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai on October 14, this is the second show of 'Ootre Uzwadlem'. Pradeep, who is based in Dubai has come out with his new play after his successful shows like 'Sangon Mugdhana' and 'Saglem Divchem Thane' among others. This is also a good opportunity for the people who have missed this show in Dubai. The play is expected to create a laugh-riot among the audience.

Although the drama will be basically a comedy, it is very well woven with a social message. From scripting to casting the best talent in town has been selected. This also has been one of the most exciting plays Pradeep has written till date. Moreover, the drama has appealed to the classes and masses alike.

Along with Pradeep himself, Deepak Dsliva Paladka, Sunil Pinto, Sharon Rego, Ramcy Fernandes, Godwin Castelino, Charlie Kombalke, Cleevan-Pernal, Helwyn, Dainy Pamboor, and Paul will feature in the play. Cyril Baptist, Agrar will provide the music and dances are choreographed by Arun Lobo of Feat Beat Group.

A grand celebration awaits as USWAS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. An association, started on a small trail in December 2002, now has over 200 members and is constantly driven by the motto, ‘Lend a hand not for self, but for each other’.

Over the years, USWAS has been providing financial assistance to the needy for various purposes like education of financially backward children, medical aid, house construction, marriages of economically backward couples and various such needs for the community of Shirva and surrounding efficiently through the generous help from its sponsors and well-wishers. Last year, USWAS supported the project of St. Mary’s Post Graduation College in Shirva.

Decennial year curtain raised during the “SHIRVA FESTHA SAMBHRAM -2012” and Decennial Year Celebration of USWAS will conclude with a grand celebration ‘USWAS DASHAMANOTSAV’ which will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Health Church Open grounds – Shirva.
