Mangalore: Recovering from Murderous Assault, Rahim Uchil Clarifies Matter

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (RD)

Mangalore, Apr 19: Rahim Uchil, president of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy who was critically wounded by unidentified assailants recently stated in a media release that he wanted to clear the matter related to his assault.

It was an attempt to kill him, solely for being active in BJP and for exercising freedom of speech that is bestowed by the nation’s Constitution, he stated, adding that the key accused was in police custody and that he has revealed the names of his associates.

"The police have maintained secrecy so as to conduct the investigations smoothly. The other accused are absconding, and the airport authorities across the nation have been alerted in case they try to flee abroad," stated the media release.

It may be recalled that Rahim Uchil was attacked in broad daylight on March 15 by a gang of six unidentified miscreants. He was critically injured, but was declared out of danger a day later. Political leaders of different parties visited the hospital to enquire about his health.

"I have faith in the judiciary and I am sure the assailants will be punished. I pardon them for their heinous crime," stated Uchil in the media release.

He further added, "I have helped my community on various issues throughout my political life. I have neither disgraced my community nor caused agony. A section from within the community plotted the attack, as they were led by wrong notions about me."

He also thanked the doctors who treated him and for the 24-hour security provided at the hospital by the police. He also thanked people of all communities for their prayers which brought him back from the jaws of death and enabled his recovery.

Your story is one sided. The reaction of the Hindus is very minute when compared to the atrocities being suffered by them since the last 1000 years.

When Parsis, Jews and Tibetans thank the Hindus for giving protection, why you are fuming poison. Because everything is wrong with you people only.

We welocome people like Kalam, Colaco and Uchil for respecting the culture of their fore-fathers.

The fanatics in any religion have no place in the society. The accused as well as the conspirators behind the attack should be punishes as per law.
Whether it is BJP or Congress or any other party, the leaders should see that the minorities get their rightful share and also the minorities should demand their rightful share, if not delivered.
The only drawback with BJP is the communal element, their ideology of hatred for minorities and dalits, their insulting speeches against Muslims for vote-bank and their foot soldiers attacking the minority in the name of protection of Hindu culture that is very disturbing. For power they are playing dirty politics of divide and rule which will have very bad effect on the development of our future generation and suppressed BPOs.
What an agony that the judicial system is not able to arrest Advani & Co Modi & Co Thackeray & Co. for their years of misdeeds against minorities. The judiciary should act as per the constitution and should not fall for the pressure from the political lobbies.
The minorities still have great faith in Indian democracy and we believe that India has great future if we are united and also if the politicians & the Governing Systems are honest in discharging their duties for inclusive growth.
    Jai Hind!
