Mangalore: Chief Engineer of Philippines Ship Breathes his Last

Mangalore, Apr 21: The chief engineer of a ship of Philippines origin died of heart failure here on Wednesday April 18. He has been identified as Rudolf L Marcado (63), chief engineer of the cargo ship, Shialo D Venezia.

Marcado suffered severe heart attack when functioning in the said ship, which was moving to New Mangalore Port here for picking up iron ore load.

The crew of the ship provided him first aid. But he could not be saved. His body was handed over to the concerned, after conducting post mortem at a private hospital here. A report in this connection was filed in Panambur police stationon Thursday.
