Bangalore, Apr 21:
A day after the Central Empowered Committee appointed by the Supreme Court to probe into the illegal mining cases and other land denotification cases against former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa submitted its report to the apex court recommending CBI investigation, Karnataka’s Lokayukta Court had more bitter news for the Lingayat strongman by issuing summons to him and five others, including his two sons, in connection with a private complaint into corruption cases.

The Lokayukta Judge K Sudhindra Rao, who has literally turned out to be a nemesis for the former Chief Minister, took cognizance of the private complaint filed by city-based advocate Sirajin Basha and ordered issue of summons to Yeddyurappa and his sons B Y Raghavendra, Shimoga BJP MP, and B Y Raghavendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar and two others.

The Lokayukta Jugde adjourned further hearing into the case to May 24 and ordered that all the accused must personally present themselves before the court.

Summons to HDK, Chennigappa

Meanwhile, the same Lokayukta Judge, who took cognizance of another private complaint on alleged violation of rules in ordering land denotification filed against former JD(S) Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha member, former minister C Chennigappa and two others, ordered issue of summons to all the accused and directed them to personally appear before the court at the next hearing on May 21.

An activist Mahadevaswamy, in his private complaint, had alleged that Kumaraswamy ordered denotification of 3.8 acres in 2007 when he was heading the JD(S)-BJP coalition government at the behest of Chennigappa in violation of rules.

In the private complaint filed by the advocate Sirajin Pasha against Yeddyurappa, his sons, son-in-law, promoters of Adarsh Developers B M Jayashankar and B M Karunesh, had alleged violations of offences under Prevention of Corruption Act, IPC and Karnataka Land (Restriction of Transfer) Act.

The complaint pertains to illegal allotment of site in HSR Layout, with estimated loss to the state exchequer being Rs 1.92 crore, illegal gratification by Yeddyurappa obtained from Jayashankar and criminal breach of trust committed by the former chief minister through illegal denotification of land in Nagarbhavi village.

In the other private complaint against Kumaraswamy and Chennigappa, it was alleged that the JD(S) leaders were involved in the case pertaining to the land acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority for formation of residential sites in Arakavathy layout.

The Lokayukta police had filed a chargesheet against Kumaraswamy, Chennigappa, Dr Raviprakash and Sriram, the erstwhile owners of the land, on April 16.

It may be recalled that Karnataka High Court had on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Kumaraswamy in the case and Chennigappa has moved the Lokayukta Court for a similar relief.

All De-notifications made by HDK//Yeddy/(SMK/Dharma Singh later) were asked to investigate by SC after appraisal by CEC.Therefore one or other way all four named Stalwarts will be going to jail for sure. But Yeddy's De-notifications were crossed all limit. He (yEDDY)thought de-notification is giving alms to his cronies. When we look @ the development of all these corrupt transactions OF politicians irrespective of party lines, filled their pocket recklessly. The cases were brought to light when Yeddy gone berserk undermining rule of lands by legitimating corruptions through checks and DDs .The file photo of DAIJI looks great, riding in same car(infact I would say same boat)gives an impression that in Dosti Govt also both were in hand in glove for corruptions!!!

For these two leading politicians of sizable communities of Karnataka..Vokkaliga and lingayatha, would be set back in their political career which in turn DVS and Congress will be beneficiary indirectly.
