Dammam, Apr 22: A 37-year-old Vittal - Puttur-based youth working in Dammam was seriously injured in an accident on Sunday April 15.
The accident took place on Dammam Al-Khobar highway near Rakha overbridge.
The victim has been identified as Abdul Hameed Darbe, son of Abdul Kader working in Yahya Al-Naseeb establishment, here.
According to his co-worker, the incident occurred at around 3:30 pm when he was working on cable earth near a highway divider. A speeding pickup truck driven by a Saudi nationalist, which came from the wrong side hit Abdul Hameed who was working near by the highway divider.
Soon after the incident Hameed was rushed to Al-Mana Hospital. The sources said that he suffered several injuries including a serious head injury and was admitted to Intensive Care Unit as he was in coma.
Lately it was noticed that he belonged to the Mangalore community and some source informed to the India Fraternity Forum. Anwar Sadath, IFF representative continuously remained in touch with the company authorizer, Hospitals and his family related personals.
Hameed is married and has two children. He comes from a poor family residing in Darbe Puttur.
