Beltangady: Triple Ride - Three Killed as Bus Smashes into Bike

Beltangady, Apr 23: Three persons were killed in an accident between a bike and a bus near here on Monday April 23 at around 9 pm. All three were riding on the bike.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Vincy, Viju while the identity of the third person is yet to be ascertained.

The accident took place at Halekote between Gurvayankere and Beltangady.

The accident occured when a KSRTC bus plying from Mangalore to Dharmasthala rammed into the bike the trio were riding. The bike caught fire and one of them was charred, while the other two were crushed by the bus.

The bus also caught fire and passengers were made to alight. Police rushed to the spot and fire service was pressed into action.

Vincy was a auto rickshaw driver in Koppadabail near Beltangady, while Viju was involved in rubber tapping in Punjalkatte.

Beltangady police have registered a case.

    May the soul of the deceased rest in eternal peace and give comfort to the bereaved family and friends. I do not know when these bike riders will learn to ride their bikes safely. No helmets, three on one bike and maybe speeding may have caused this accident. We all know how these bus drivers racing to get to their destination and cause injuries and fatal accidents.

    Sad news.bikes are the killers.Our youngsters do not learn lessons from the daily accidents that takes place all over. Avoiding helmets , over loading , carrying heavy load and non- maintaining the bikes are the reasons for these dangerous accidents and loosing precious young lives.

    THE ROAD STARTING FROM BELTHANGADY TO BANTWAL WITH LOTS OF UNNECESSARY DANGEROUS CURVES AND SURPRISE TURNS !!!! THESE ROADS SHOULD BE STRAIGHTENED AS ITS HEADING TOWARDS IMPORTANT PLACE LIKE DHARMASTALA

    My source in Belthangady informed me that this fatal accident happened near Mr Vasatha Bangera's house(MLA).May the soul rest in peace. Between Guruvayanakere and Belthangady (Proposed NH) road is very busy all the time as all motors From Managalore,Udupi,Uppinangady and Moodbidri joins this road.
