Bangalore: Aryabhata Awards Conferred on Rohan Monteiro, Praveen Shetty, Others

Bangalore, Apr 29: Five eminent Mangaloreans were honoured with the prestigious Aryabhata Award at a glittering ceremony held here on Saturday April 28.

Rohan Monteiro of Property Infra Tech, Eric Correa of Souharda Foundation, Praveen Shetty of Fortune Group, Dubai, Siraj Ahmed of Inland Builders, and Kannada cultural enthusiast Kamalaksha Amin from Bahrain were the awardees.

The Aryabhata organization confers the awards on noted achievers for their outstanding talents and performances in creating social developments and peace. Upcoming young entrepreneur of Mangalore Property Infra Tech Rohan Monteiro was awarded for his outstanding achievements in the field of socio-economic developments and various  charity works .

Eric Correa of Souharda Foundation was recognised with the award for his work with the motto of 'To give to those who do not have', and Siraj Ahmed for his  contribution to society

The awardees were honoured by former Chief Justice Dr M N Venkatachalaiah  at Raveendra Kalakshetra, Bangalore.

Addressing the gathering, he said that though he has received many awards during the span of his career, the most valuable award was the opportunity to honour such remarkable achievers with the Aryabhata Award.

Among those present were Aryabhata organization president Dr H L N Rao and Doordarshan director Dr Mahesh Joshi.
