Hey alex...remember one thing...I dont know who is kevin misquith untill he was there in muscat...but I was the one who louldly cheered once more..for him...cos I liked his songs...if 4 or 5 would have shouted then we could have said Kevin might have booked...but it was nearly 400 who cheered....your FB profile may not have 500 friend in 5 years,,,so booking 500 people to cheer for him is impossible....for every successful show people like you dirt the beauty of it...and by the way kevin wasnt wearing bikini to comment on his dress

A few years ago, in one of the live in concerts in Thailand, even Asha Bonsle was jeered by the crowd who were all young and expecting a fast number from Asha Bhonsle. But she had sung a slow Bollywood number.

So, let us not take minor issues to our hearts.

All said and done, three cheers to MCCP and its leadership and all those who are instrumental in staging this unprecedented big show. The ion of VIP's both local and other countries was appropriate. Dattu lived upto our expectation.

On seeing the unity and class, all Mangaloreans feel proud to be a part of MCCP in Oman. May Lord Jesus bless all.

Mr alwyn m'lore, for your kind info. 'kalza thar' tuned by mr.Roshan angelore itself. But kevin didnt mention it in his album. Here actually you are misguided by some1. If u have any doubt just cal roshan angelore and confirm it. Its really good for a artist to give regards, from whom he got support, it may be a lyrics or tunes etc.

@ Henry M'lore small correction the songs presented by Kevin are his own compositions, you need to understand the difference between lyricist and music composer, Kenna Kenna is a poetry written by Wilson Kateel but Kevin composed tune and made it a song, it became popular after it was converted to a song and not as a poetry alone. Kalza Thar song is both written and composed by Kevin itself, check the album credits if any doubts . All three songs he presented are his own and from his albums itself.Don't comment with wrong facts..

MCCP has done really a good job. Congratulations MCCP. Some tips to kevin, dont feel bad on this. whatever songs presented by melwyn peris were his own lyrics & tunes. But here in utsav which songs presented by kevin were not his own creations. Specially, 'kenha kenha' lyrics written by wilson kateel and 'kalza thar' tuned by roshan angelore. So its a responsibility of kevin 2 take their name on stage before he going to perform.
Jerry and nellu were really rocked on stage. Hats off to Melwyn peris and team. And congratulation to MCCP once again.

well said Mr.Victor. Yes, Melwyn is a part of legacy that was started ages before... and Kevin is continuing the legacy with current generation trend that is very essential, else the compositions may fade away. The music for soul has satisfied both young and old generation. Artists such as Kevin, Vijay, Joel, etc... should come forward to continue the legacy and not allow to fade away by choosing the popular pops or music of bollywood or hollywood. Our events and parties need not follow other language songs to satisfy their taste, as we have mixture of golden melodies and modern foot tapping numbers in our very own Konkani mother-tongue. All young artists continue the legacy with your compositions and music for the soul of Konkan generation. God bless. Joel and all other Musicians with your superb instrumental music added the spirit to the event. Rony , Anitha and Melwyn you were extraordinary. Kevin Wonderful. all the best to all the artists.

Please don't compare the uncomparables. Melwin and Kevin both are good singers but in the different styles. It is like comparing Lata Mangeshkar with Sunidhi Chauhan. Both are great singers in their own way. What is important is enjoying their performance with a positive frame of mind. After all, both are sons of Konkan Matha. I love my mother and so is Konkani Matha till my last breath.Long Live Konkani.

    Tue, May 01 2012

I congratulate MCCP for organising a fantastic function in Muscat. It was truly Marvellous.

But, after looking at all these comments, I truly feel bad about narrow minded people in our community. Criticism is a part and parcel of any performance. But, it should be always constructive.

All the singers did very well in their own way. Melvyn Peris is a legend, Rony D'Cunnah is a blessing for Konkani music, Anita is also superb. But, it is also truly acceptable that Kevin was outstanding on that day.

Why do we use computer instead type writer these days? There is always something called generation gap. Young generation liked Kevin's performance very much. Kevin was very much interactive with the crowd. He was innovative and he made crowd to sing which was outstanding. People liked him because he was different. It is also open truth that one person can not have more than 5 to 10 friends when he or she is visiting a place for the first time. Hence it acceptable fact that he got true cheer for 'ONCE MORE'.

Regarding any function, it will become fruitful only when variety entertainment is combined together.
If someone sings Baila for 1 hour, it doesn't make any sense for the listener. In this function, Kevin created the variety which was much needed. All seniors and music lovers should understand that and encourage the young talent instead doing destructive criticism.

Regarding the dress code, Kevin was fully dressed and covered his body completely unlike most NRIs. Especially he dressed manly through out the function which was more than sufficient.

I feel being in catholic community we need to encourage the new talents in constructive way rather than disturbing them seriously. Encourage them to reach their heights. Konkani music will prosper.

Excellent show from MCCP. It takes a lot to put up a show of this calibre.

Melvyn Peris and Kevin both were good with thier performance.

Let us not debate on who was good between these two.

Let us just relish those lovely moments and enjoy the fact that Konkani is alive.

Its not the victory of Melvyn or Kevin, above all its the victory for KONKANI MAAIN BHAAS.

We should appreciate the fact the legacy started by wilfy Remimbus, which is very well continued by the Youngsters like Kevin, Darell etc...and that too in a manner without compromising on the poetry and the essence of konkani language and culture.

So instead criticising let us support them and inspire them to move ahead in the same direction.

Once again MCCP Keep up the good work and God Bless you for this wonderful show...

    Kevin Misquit,

Your show was good, but need to improve a lot.
Three friendly advise to you. Hope you accept:

    1. Stop asking your friends to make noise whenever you enter, and ask them shout 'Once more'. This will spoil you in longer version. This can be done when show is done by you alone. WHen senior artistes around, do not hurt them with these tactice

    2. Please wear decent, well acceptable dress when you enter the stage. Please learn more from Melwin Peris, Rony Dcunha etc

    3. Don't imitate mega musical stars, its not good for Konkani. Just be a Konkani artiste, not a pop star or bollywood star. You can do that after few years, if you maintain and reach popularity. Now you are a beginer, there are several young talents in Mangalore like Vijay Lobo, Joel Puttur, and many others.

Hope you accept this humbly, you will become a real star...
