Mangalore: Large Squid Takes Fishermen by Surprise

Mangalore, May 3: A large squid was caught by fishermen here on Thursday May 3 during their routine fishing activity.

The squid, weighing around 10 kg, was a suprise catch, as usually such variety in these parts weigh no more than 4 kg.

One of the fishermen said, "Even though it was sold for a small amount, the squid surprised everyone here at the seashore."

The boat which had gone for fishing was rowed by Thangwel of Tamil Nadu and other 8 fishermen.

The squid was trapped in their net along with fish and other catch.

Though they found the squid on April 30, they reached seashore only on May 3. They said they take minimum 10 days for fishing.
