Mangalore, May 4: In yet another case of daylight theft, a lady lost her gold ornaments worth Rs 3.80 while travelling by bus on Thursday May 3.
Jayalatha, a resident of Bajpe, carrying a purse with gold jewellery worth Rs 3.8 lac in her bag, was on her way from Ladyhill to Mangaldevi when the incident took place.
A few minutes later she noticed that the purse in which she had kept gold was missing and immediately filed a complaint with the Urwa police.
Cases of pickpocketing have been on the rise in the city. Last week, two women thieves were caught for trying to steal a bag from a passenger in a local bus.

Sat, May 05 2012We are free to carry our own things as per our needs as citizens of this country. Why there should be thieves travelling free do they hold any right or licence to touch co-passengers bags? If they are punished immediately others will not be tempted to do this ridiculous act. Our honest native mangaloreans will always join hands to catch the culprits.
