Dubai: Stage Set for 20th Anniversary of Devadiga Sangha

Dubai, May 8: Devadiga Sangha Dubai, UAE, as announced earlier, will be hosting its 20th anniversary celebrations on Friday May 11 at Deira Sheraton, Dubai. The event will kick-start at 10 am.

The program is to begin on an auspicious note of lighting the lamp followed by a stage program. Guests of Honour Dr Devraj K, director of SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore and Dinesh Devadiga, president of Devadiga Sangha, Mangalore will be gracing the occasion. 

The audience will be witness to a day full of colourful cultural programs by the members of the community. Mesmerizing dances led by Naveen Kumar, Vaani Bijoor, Prameela Rajshekar, Akshatha Sherigar and Deeksha ably choreographed by Mary Miranda and Arun Alva of Prabhudeva fame are the pick of the day.

Hilarious rib tickling comedy skit “Yamalokodu face book mahatme” enacted by Jesh Bayar, Arun Manipal and Sandeep would be a treat to watch.

The day will be studded with the melodious singing stars of the community, Harish Sherigar, Suresh Devadiga and Dileep Devadiga. Singing princess Akshatha Rao the young talent from Sharjah will be joining. Already famous in the UAE with his new album about to release will is the famous singer, composer Nadeem from Oman providing his live music. A comedy prasanga from the famous yakshagana “Kaarnikada Kalluti Kalkuda” will be enacted by Yaksha Mitraru which would be the high light of the day. And to top it all the icing on the cake would be the handsome Deepak Maroli and beautiful Shikha Devadiga who would be compering and enthralling the audience.

Harischandra Devadiga, advisor, a community veteran will be felicitated on the occasion for his service to the community. The guests and the sponsors of the show will also be felicitated.

With the help of sponsors, well-wishers and members the fund generated will be given for the scholarship activities back home and also used for the benefit of community members here in case of any emergencies.
