Udupi, May 13: Anand Suvarna Malpe, a bodybuilder of Six Pack Multi-Gym, Manipal, bagged the ‘Mr Karavali’ title in the inter-district bodybuilding competitions held at Padubidri, near here, on Sunday May 13.  Anand Suvarna was also awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and a gift hamper sponsored by Sharan Electronics, Padubidri.
 
Soujan Shetty of Sri Ramanjaneya Gym, Ambalapady, bagged the ‘Best Poser’ title, cash money of Rs 5,000, and a gift hamper.

 
The competitions were held in six divisions and all first winners were awarded with cash prize of Rs 3,000 each. The second place winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,000 each, while third prize winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 1,000 each. The fourth place winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 750 each and fifth place winners were awarded cash prizes of Rs 500 each during the valedictory function held on Sunday evening.
 
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon distributed the prizes during the valedictory function held  on Sunday evening.
 
National Bodybuilders’ Federation president Madhav Poojary, Udupi District Bodybuilders’ Association president Govardan Bangera, and Flex Your Muscles Gym trainer Naresh Kannagar were felicitated during the programme. Govardan Bangera presided over the programme.
 
Coastal Development Authority member Ravindranath G Hegde, entrepreneur Santosh Kumar Shetty, Madhav Shetty, A Shiva Kumar, Navin N Shetty, entrepreneurs Mitun R Hegde and Francis D’Souza, Madhav Poojary, Jitendra Furtado, organizing committee honorary president Maxim D’Souza, president Dr Manoj Kumar Shetty, and trainer Naresh Kannangar were present.
 
Hotelier Vishwanath Shetty, Kaup block Congress vice-president Navinchandra J Shetty, Karnire Jumma Masjid president S K Sayyed, Palimar gram panchayat vice-president Jitendra Furtado, Dakshina Kannada ZP former president K P Sucharita Shetty, Padubidri gram panchayat president Ratnakar Raj Padubidribeedu, District Bodybuilders’ Association secretary Ravi Kumar, Dayanand K, and Prakash Devadiga were also present.
