Mangalore: Team Mangalore Shines in Artevento International Kite Festival, Cervia in Italy

Mangalore, May 14: Team Mangalore, a city based hobby group of kite flyers, on invitation from organizers of Artevento International Kite Festival, Cervia, Italy participated in the 32nd Artevento International Kite Festival event held at Pinarella Beach in Cervia Italy as representatives from India.

The festival was organized by Claudio Capelli and Caterina Capelli, renowned artists from Italy. In the festival the team Mangalore showcased some of its best kites depicting Indian Folk Art to Italians. The event witnessed participation from 38 countries. Many flyers of international fame around the world showcased their collection of kites.

A team of 4 members Sarvesh Rao, Nitin Shetty, Prashanth Upadhyaya and Dinesh Holla participated in this mega event. This unique event was a blend of kites and art where many artists showcased their talents. The team Mangalore was a special guest of honour in the event. Prashanth Upadhyaya entertained the gathering by Yakshagana performance. The Italians were fascinated by the costume and appreciated the performance.

Dinesh Holla conducted live demonstration of art kites and also exhibited his line art work. People gathered appreciated the line art demonstration.  In all, team Mangalore added more colours to the unique festival by it’s all round performance in kite flying, cultural talent and art demonstration.

Earlier, team Mangalore had participated in various international kite festivals held at Canada, UK, France, Thailand, Korea, Sri Lanka,  Dubai  and recently it had participated in the international kite festival held at Korea.  

In all, the team has once again showcased cultural heritage of India to the Italians.

    Congratulations ! to the entire team from Mangalore .You have made Mangloreans proud by representing India. Its really great to see , Nitin Shetty a top Chartered Account of Mangalore having a passion for flying kites. We need to learn alot from him and learn to make sometime for entertainment and fun.
