M'lore: Police, Hindu Jagarana Vedike Activists Nab Youth for Immoral Activities

Mangalore, May 19: Acting on a tip-off, locals and Hindu Jagarana Vedike along with the police, attacked a rented house in Thare Thota of Nanthur, wherein three men and a woman were allegedly found semi-nude at midnight on Friday May 18.
The four youngsters as well as a woman from another community from Udupi, were caught drinking in one house.
The woman was staying in the rented house and it is said that the men used to visit her house often.
The woman was then immediately sent to Prajna Counseling Centre, Jeppinamogaru, Mangalore, while the men were taken to Kankanady police station and an investigation was on.
It’s learnt that they were allegedly drinking alcohol and busy in some sort of recreation.
Though a case has been registered, they were sent to the Tahasildar’s office and no criminal charge was lodged. They were asked not to repeat the mistake and were given a warning.
The complaint about the incident was taken from the accused in a written format.
Sub-inspector Mani Swami and other police personnel of Kankanady police station took part in the raid.
