Bangalore, May 22: In a bid to provide land for rapid industrialistion, Karnataka has already denotified 5,000 acres of land for industrial projects in Mangalore, Davangere, Belgaum and other districts.

A proposal on underground terminal from Sakleshpur to Mangalore would also be prepared for fast movement of vehicles from Bangalore to Mangalore.

Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani disclosed this information to reporters after reviewing the preparations for the forthcoming Global Investors Meet in Bangalore in June.

The State Government has already issued preliminary notification for acquiring 40,000 acres in different parts of the State following the last Global Investors’ Meet (2010) held in Bangalore. Out of 40,000 acres, 5,000 acres has been denotified.

Of this, as much as 1,200 acres in Mangalore, 1,400 acres in Davanagere and 800 acres in Belgaum and 1600 acres in rest of the districts has been denotified.

Farmers protest for acquisition of lands was the major reason for the denotification. Nirani said the State Government has identified 80,000 acres across the State for industrial projects during the last GIM.

Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Nirani and top officials of the State Government reviewed the preparations for the next month’s GIM.

They also discussed incentives demanded by major industries such as Nestle India, Mangalore Refinery Petro-Chemicals Limited (MRPL), Tata Motors.

Gowda said the Government has not taken a decision on providing incentives to industrialists. Admitting that tax and other concessions would burden the State exchequer, he said another round of meeting would finalise the list of incentives to be offered to industries in the State.

Stating that attracting investment in infrastructure is on top of the State Government’s agenda during the next month’s GIM, Nirani said the industrialists have been demanding a lot of concessions from the Government to set up their second plants in the State.

Nirani said the State Government has proposed to operate high speed rail links from Bangalore to Mysore, Hubli, Belgaum, Gulbarga and from Belgaum and Hubli.

Japan International Consultancy Company would prepare project reports on high speed rail links in the State, Nirani said.

The State Government has proposed to set up seven sewerage water recycling plants in Bangalore for meeting water requirement of industries located in the city.

Tenders have been called for setting up sewerage water recycling plants on public-private-partnership model in the City. Triveni Engineering and Industries Limited, Pune and Thermax Limited, Pune, have evinced interest to set up the plants.

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has already set up the plant near Kengeri on Bangalore-Mysore road.

Murgesh Nirani,Industry ministry is under the scanner of illegal De-notification of land of One Mr Pasha, industrialist in U.Kannada.Nirani's D-notification was asked to probe by Lokayukta Court yesterday.

In several occasions,Nirani sent mercenaries to threaten PASHA but determined Pasha not cowed down.In one occasion, Pasha's two MBA female daughters (students) were threatened by Nirani's henchmen on record.

D-Notification of lands in the name development is passion of State BJP govt, this govt even formed LAND BANK!!!!Most of the d- notified lands are used for real estate mafias in which MLAs and Ministers were hand in glove..Due to illegal d- notification Yeddy lost the job and in near future Nirani will also going to loose his job.Land bank and D-notifications are the interest of Real estate mafias and corrupt politicians under going in BJP rule.Farmer's fertile lands are d-notified and the curse of them are felt by BJP now a days and will not come to power again in Karnataka.

This govt not concerned about uninterrupted power supply and present drought condition instead preparing GIM for a showcase !
