Mangalore: Mendonca Education Fund Distributes Scholarships to 66 Students

Mangalore, May 24:  “Mendonca Educational Fund” which started in 2007 by NRI Mendonca family, to support the cause of education by offering financial assistance to the needy children of Vamanjoor parish, distributed scholarship to 66 needy children during an annual orientation programme, here on Tuesday, May 22. 

The scholarships from Mendonca Education Fund will help these children to pursue their studies in pre-universities and batcher's degree.








During the occasion, a motivational talk by Dr Norbert Lobo, associate professor, St Aloysius College was arranged.  He highlighted the significance of marks to qualify for higher studies or to find a good employment. He urged the students to concentrate on the studies and excel in life.  He also lauded the efforts of Mendonca family for their commitment, concern and dedication towards the cause of education.  

Shobha Mendonca and Jacintha Mendonca, the members of the Mendonca family distributed the sanction letters to the children and urged them to do well in studies and life.  

The local committee members – Junifer Alvares (convener), Jerald Monteiro, Joachim D’Souza, and Charles Pais (secretary) were present on the occasion. 

Joachim D’Souza invoked God’s blessings in the beginning and Charles Pais compeered the programme.
