Mangalore: MCC Officials Swoop Down on Mall, Train Guns on Unauthorized Shops

Mangalore, May 25: The officials of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) raided Bharath Mall and other places in the city here on May 24 evening.
The officials examined the trade licenses of several shops in the mall. Some of the shops were found to be trading without authorized licence from the MCC, and were sealed on the spot.
The owners were told to acquire appropriate documents and licences to resume their businesses.
Since last Friday several shops in the city have been raided as per the orders of the city commissioner. The MCC health inspectors, tax officers and officers of sanitation department are part of the team led by joint commissioner Srikanth Rao
Last Saturday, bhel puri and pani puri stalls were raided, and on Thursday may 23 Attavar and other places in the city too were brought under scanner. Fines running into several thousands have been collected so far from erring businesses.
Health inspector Bharath Kumar told Daijiworld that the raid operations will go on until the commissioner gives orders to stop.
