Bangalore: Ex-Lover Arrested for Kundapur Girl's Brutal Murder

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore

Bangalore, May 29: BTM Layout in the city witnessed the shocking murder of a 23-year-old woman right in the middle of the road. The miscreants, said to be two men, hacked her with a matchete on the neck and sped away.

The deceased is Divya Sharma, a native of Saligrama in Kundapur and one among the three daughters of Shyama and Shantha. She was a resident of NS Palya and employed in a shoe manufacturing company in Koramangala, and stayed with her parents and sisters.

Ranjith, her ex-boyfriend has been arrested in the case.

The incident is said to have taken place in the evening on a busy street. Divya was walking home after getting down from a bus, when two persons came on a bike and one of them struck a machete on her neck and fled, leaving behind the weapon.

Though Divya was rushed to a hospital, she died on the way.

The needle of suspicion has pointed towards Ranjith, who is said to be her ex-boyfriend. According to reports, Divya broke up with him and was engaged to another man named Pradeep. Ranjith may have killed her as a revenge, it is surmised.

The police were on the lookout for Ranjith, and arrested him on Tuesday May 29.

The police have also taken Divya's mobile phone into possession to track her calls. It is said that her fiance Pradeep was getting threat calls.

Mico Layout police have registered a case of murder.

This was a very shocking and bad news when i head it at first, Ranjith i knew this person personally he was a very silent and friendly person and suddenly today i heard about him being murdering a girl!!!!!. Who knows what have been gone through mind and certainly he took a wrong step towards this. It was her decision to live with whomever she liked to be with. Certainly lot of things might have went through both of them.... and ended up in a wrong way. guilty should be punished .. no one can just take someones life if they are taking your heart out.. he was certainly misguided or no one consoling him to get out of that mess... !!!!!!! but ultimately this sort of guilty should be punished..

condolences to the family for this sudden and shocking loss of a grown up and promising child of theirs and shame on those who comment mindlessly on such a sad thing.Just because we are given a free platform to express ourselves , we just cant go on saying what comes to our mind.Lets first understand that, our youngsters are becoming increasingly intolerent, selfish, egoistic and looking for instant gratification. They mindlessly follow the stereotype created by our cinema and T.V, which is a worrysum social phenomena.

Again our social and education system is failing to teach our children handle the negatives in life with positiveness and dignity . we are failing to instill in our children values and management of emotions. As long as we ignore these facts, more divyas and Ranjits will crop up among us.

Divya, may your soul rest in eternal peace and comfort to your family members and friends. The murderer Ranjith and also the guy who was in the bike should be hanged to death. Before that they should be parade throughout Bangalore and Kundapur. This young girl came all the way from Kundapur to Bangalore to make a living for herself and her family and she has to be killed by her ex-boyfriend. Just for the sake of a girl he ruined her career with her death. Now spend your life in jail.

THIS IS A MANUFACTURED EVIDENCE OF BLAMING A BOY FOR THE MURDER OF A GIRL. IT'S EASY TO CLOSE SUCH CASE WHEN POLICE DONT WANT TO INVESTIGATE, ITS AN EASY BLAME TO BLAME THE EX BOYFRIEND AND GET AWAY WITH IT. I'M SURE HE IS NOW BEING TORTURED IN CUSTODY AND ASKED TO SIGN BLANK PAPERS WHERE HE IS SAID TO AGREE TO THE MURDER.

India is a male dominated society unlike the west. Things like this (and other things like acid throwing, gang rape, etc.) only happens in india, pakistan, bangladesh, iran etc, where in, the male lover gets rejected and then his ego takes over to do nasty, brutal things to his female partner. This will only reduce when indian society as a whole, gives more weightage to women's rights.

    Dear Henry Misquith, Bahrain,
While I agree with your comment, i just want to know will this happen in India?
You know how many years passed after the Mumbai attack, Still the terrorist, Kasab is enjoying in Indian Jail and making use of ordinary tax payers money. Of course if he was in Bahrain, i am sure this action would have taken.
There is a serious need for changing our judiciary system, but this will take place only in drearm. Our politicians will never debate this issue in the parliament as 99.9% of them are corrupt.

Ignored by love or dumped by love often results in very gruesome pain and ends in such monstrous result. It looks that the boy done such heinous crime without second thinking , and as a sudden outburst. I pity both the boy and girl. Looking at the incident , probably girl decieved boy , which also puts onus on her . Specially when men or boy r in crisis , they hardly get any counselling. Hardly anyone can find men right groups or men rehabilitation centre. They suffer silently and self detonate like above. Laws are partial and favours mostly women , in this case i hope boy gets fair judgement if he is convicted . Let her soul rest in peace.

It is indeed quite sad to hear the murder of a girl. NO one has the right to kill others nor spoil others life, In life one cannot force a person to like or love, it should happen, and if this is not happen then think Gods plan is not there, Why to go for Murder and what difference it make now to call human or animal, such people deserve .................? Let God look into these.....
May Divya soul rest in peace
