Mangalore, May 29:
Former union minister B Janardhan Poojary has termed the nationwide bandh called by BJP, NDA and left parties against the steep hike in petrol prices as ‘unlawful’.

Addressing reporters here on Tuesday May 29, he said that there was a strict order by the Supreme Court that there should not be any bandh and in case any organization calls for it, the loss thereby incurred would have to be borne by the same party.

The bandh call on May 31 by the NDA and left parties across the nation was severely condemned by the former minister.

"In the event of the devaluation of rupee against dollar in the international market, the hike was inevitable. The step was taken by the central government keeping in view the better management of the economy, even as economy of other nations shivered. The government is already giving Rs 1,94,000 crore as subsidy on petroleum products," he said.

Coming down heavily on the inaction of the state government in not eliminating the cess on petrol, Poojary said that in the neighboring state of Goa, petrol price stood at Rs 62 which clearly shows that the tax imposed by the government of Karnataka was too high.

He demanded an immediate decrease in the state tax to match the price prevailing in other states.

He also assured that the central government is taking every possible step to help the states, with 28 percent of the total Rs 15,00,000 crore budget being utilized for states.

Asked about UPA’s own allies being against the price hike, he termed it a ‘tragedy’. "That is why people should elect a government with majority, as coalition is always full of problems," he added.

    Mr. Dinesh Poojary,

First of all you answer my below question,

    1. Stock exchange, Unit Trust of India and coffin scandals during Vajpayee's tenure?

    2. Telgi committed crime when BJP's Vajpayee was the Prime Minister.
    3. Yedyurappa is held when he himself was Chief Minister.
    Janardhan Reddy is also BJP.
    4. Tehelka Scandal (very Serious matter related to defence)-> George Fernandes etc etc etc
    5. Tehelka Hidden camera-> Bangar laxman
    6. Hudco-> Ananth Kumar etc etc
    7. Land notification -> Somanna, Sri Ramulu, Karunakara reddy, R.Ashok etc etc etc
    9. BJP's Prerana trust -> Crores of rupees funded from where did the money come?
    9. Murder of IAS officer in MP & KAS officer in Karnataka.
    10. Murder Of Congress Rajya Sabha MP in Gujurat Riot.
    11. Crores of rupees lost in Gujurat riot.
    12. Not Only Muslims even common Hindus lost their lives, family, their business which used to be their daily bread in Gujurat riot in 2002.
    13. Why the distribution of fund during the earthquake of gujurat in 2001 did not reach the needy?
    14. The real politics in the gujurat riot is to bring back the BJP to power in the state once again by polarizing the 84% Hindu vote in Gujurat to BJP. Because Narendra Modi did not have other option other than Gujutat Riot in 2002 to polarize Hindu vote to BJP. Because he has done lots of injustice in delivering the earthquake fund to the people in 2001.
    etc etc etc ...........

Why you want BJP national level stories, when I can give example of local BJP leaders itself.

Dhananjay Kumar: was MP from 1991 to 2003 what he did?
He was minister when Vajpayee was PM. He has done crores of rupees.
He won election only becauseOf Hindutva in CoastalDistrictOfKarnataka.

Krishna Palemar: Looted poor common man's land in Dakshina Kannada district as well as in Udupi district and minted crores of rupees.

Nagaraj Shetty: He has many travels, Shipping company etc. made Crores of rupees.

    etc etc etc ........

    Therefore as usual,

    BJPighe Dikaara.

    Congress Ki Jai.

There is imbalance in the economy. $ rate increased to 55. I'm sure MM Singh has taken right decision to balance the economy, so that common men could share the losses equally.

Unfortunately the people who call for bandhs (in the past all the major political parties have given call for bandhs) are very comfortable at homes. Those who go for weddings are asked to put stickers on their cars. What about those people who can not afford to go by cars? Are you not depriving them of the important function? What about those who work on daily basis? What about the sick who rely only on public mode of transport? One way would be for politicians and others who own more than one car to use only one car and avoid too many escorts. The other option should be to use the private vehicles only if needed. One more solution would be that every private vehicle owner, should rest their vehicles atleast twice in a week. These are all practical ways to save our economy. To prove that bandh was success, there are hired goondas who will damage the vehicles at certain points. Majority of the people, irrespective of their party affiliation, do not support the bandhs. They will remain indoors only out of fear. People who profess to uphold the law of the land, should not go against the supreme court judgement. If they are not satisfied with the supreme court judgement, they should challenge it. But so far no political party has challenged the judgement. God save us from these hypocrites.

Finally someone come out from caves to condemn “Bandh” but unfortunately justifying Petrol hike. These bunches of Stupid Politicians never understand that “Bandh” will not only create problem but some benefits too. Take for example, vehicular pollutions very low while observing “Bandh” by Vehicles. Natural resources like crude oil stock will increase for as many days of “Bandh” Air India Operational “Bandh” still going on, so Government will save some losses due to its non-operation mainly because of fuel burning. Children will enjoy their School Holidays with their Parents Off-Duty. Bar & Restaurant will increase their business. Electricity consumption at Private Offices and Government Agencies will be reduced drastically. Let Supreme Court put one more fine on BJP, NDA or Left Parties but still Congress have to justify 176,00,000 Crores of Rupees in 2G Scam. Finally can anyone ask Poojary & his 40 Chors to keep their dirty mouth “Bandh” for few days pls?

At one end the indian rupee is loosing its value and at another parties are wanting to have "Bundh". Who is going to recover the lost revenue ? At the end, govt. shall increase the taxes and collect this loss from the middle class and lower family. Will the bundh effect in getting the petrol prices reduced ? We all know that the rate of increase has been always near to 300%, while the decrease has been just about 0.3% level. What sense would it make by having all india bundh ? Its shame that we are using such kind of trategy.

    Mr Poojary:

    Are these lawful:

    1. Doing CBI enquiry for your party benefit and rescuing your own party ministers?

    2. Looting thru CWG, 2G, 3G, 4G, mining, coals ?

    3. Hiking petrol price 5-6 times a year?

    4. Increasing service tax from 10 to 12 percent without reason?

    5. Molestation by Rahul Gandhi on Sukhanya, a UP girl?

    6. Feeding Kasab and encouraging many more like him?

    7. Your civil aviation minister failing to resolve AI problem and still continuing in office?

    8. Your dumb and useless PM and Italy lady supporting conversion activities for vote bank?

    9. Doing partiality in distributing disaster recovery funds for non-congress ruled states?

    10. Infinite no of problems by UPA as above ones.

Bandh should be volunteer. BJP should distribute free food for all those who affected by this bandh? If you want to do bandh , stop your vehicle in your home. But don't disturb others. Dont force others for bandh.. let the poor eat their food peacefully at the cost of their sweat.

Going for bundh is not a solution instead the major loss is borne by the public and the children.. The children will miss their class because of this bundh where their education is at risk and going for bundh is just not a solution.. Usually because of this bundh public property is damaged... So y do we call for Bundh instead try to think over something better to reduce the price of petrol and other valuables..

New Delhi: The judiciary has always taken a tough stand against enforced bandhs. Here's a look at court judgements on bandhs over the last 10 years.
The first major judicial verdict against bandhs came ten years ago in 1997, when the Kerala High Court ruled in a landmark judgment that forced bandhs were illegal.
The decision was upheld by the Supreme Court in 1998.
In 2002 the Supreme Court went a step further and d all forced hartals illegal too.
In July 2004, the Bombay High Court told the Shiv Sena and the BJP to pay a fine of Rs 20 lakh ach, for organising a Mumbai bandh in July 2003 to protest against the Ghatkopar blasts. It was estimated that the bandh had cost the city Rs 50 crore.
In November the same year, the Calcutta High Court d illegal and unconstitutional, the Bangla Bandh called by the Trinamool Congress. The court directed the party to withdraw the call and publish the decision in the media.
Last year, the Kerala High Court asked the Election Commission to deregister political parties calling bandhs.
In June this year, the Supreme Court took notice of the bandh called in Delhi on the Gujjar issue and described the government's inaction as a 'national shame'. The bandh cost the national capital region around Rs 700 crore.
Despite these judicial strictures, political parties have been organising bandhs from time to time.
Just last October, Karnataka lost around Rs 2,000 crore in a bandh called by pro-Kannada organisations on the Belgaum issue.

    IS'NT IT LOOKS FUNNY ??????

    Dear Rakesh Shetty
Thats not highly optimestic statement, but overconfidence statement you are giving that no one can shake BJPs base in Mangalore. "Bagal mein YEDDI jaisa koi ho" then you dont need anyone else to destroy BJP and its bases. The Udupi MP election result is perfect example. For BJP to loose it all you dont need any achivements from Congress, just if they feed on the leftovers of BJP thats enough to finish BJP & its bases in next elections.
