Kasargod, May 31:
A love-struck couple attempted suicide by jumping into a rivulet in Karyangod, Chervattoor, in the wee hours of Thursday May 31.

The pair has been identified as 19-year-old Dania Baby, a resident of Kanakahalli, Parappa, and 27-year-old Manu P G, a resident of Chandrakana, Chimeni. Dania was working in Nirmala Convent at Kozhikode.

A local fisherman sent an alert after he saw the pair jumping into the river from above Chervattoor Railway Bridge at about 4.45 am on Thursday.

Locals rushed to the spot and also informed the fire brigade. Despite the search by local swimmers and fire brigade personnel, the two have not been traced so far.

The police found two mobile handsets, a vanity bag, and footwear on the railway bridge. The secondary school leaving certificate (SSLC) of Manu was found in a plastic bag.  Manu was married and has twin children.  He was living in a rented house after marital disharmony.

Search is under way to trace the Manu and Dania.

Now really have to agree with the modern girls being bit by the'Love-Bug' story of Daiji's 'Special Correspondent' written some days back. it must have been a 'she' and she must have done 'deep' research! In our times though there were many many pretty girls, they were 'pretty hard' to get, and that too when we were 'pure for sure'. Nowadays girls have become 'soft targets'
by the look of things! Love bugs and Bed bugs are naturally having a field day!
