    Dear DVS
If you ever happen to read this Requesting kindly to increase the tax's on Cigaretts. Kindly reduce the taxes on essential Items like fuel and instead put this on Cig's. Make it 2,3... times or ten times and not to bend for lobby of the same. It may be good revenue for the state.

One of the best way to curb smoking is to STOP SELLING LOOSE CIGARETTES. Sell only 20s pack. When you sell loose fags anybody can afford Rs.5-8 per fag. Hence a young guy starts with just one fag. But if the retailers sell 20s pack, then this young guy has to shell out min Rs. 100 per pack. He may not have such kind of money every time. Thus we can stop these first time addicts. Lets take the marketing angle in this. Before 1980's shampoo was sold in bottles, but when a Indian brand called CHICK introduced sachet for 50 paisa or so everybody when for it & now all MNC brands are in affordable sachet. It takes just a small political/ bureaucratic step to get this recommendation implemented. The way the MCC are conducting raids they can raid the shops selling loose. If I see a good number of "LIKE" for this, we can take this recommendation to the concerned officials. I have quit smoking, but other day i just brought a affordable loose fag & smoked. If the retailer had denied I would'nt had smoked!!!!!
