Mangalore, Jun 4:
Mandd Sobhann staged 'Burgyalem Sobhann', a Konkani cultural extravaganza by children for the 126th monthly theater at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, here on Sunday June 3 evening.
 
Fr Pius James D’Souza, superior of Infant Jesus shrine, Bikarnakatte, was the chief guest.

Top camp participant Nilisha D’Souza of Bejai parish was presented with a cash award of Rs 2,000 and a certificate, top singer Hazel D’Souza, top dramatist Darren Fernandes and top dancer Anusha Pinto were  presented with cash awards of Rs 2,000 each and certificates during the programame.

Fr Pius said that training camps develop the innate talents of students and commended the efforts of Mandd Sobhann in staging monthly theaters year after year.

Mandd Sobhann president Stany Alvares and Vikas training camp director Eric Ozario were present on the dias.

Stany Alvares presented a cash award of Rs 5,000 to Ancy D’Souza, topper in Konkani SSLC exam that was held for the first time this year.  
 
Darrin Fernandes and Merula Pinto compered the programme.

The cultural programme by the children was sponsored by Alvares family of Bondel in memory of the late Jeevan Alvares.
