Mangalore: Pain of Separation Leads Two Girls to Suicide

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur

Puttur, Jun 4: In a tragic incident, two girls allegedly committed suicide together by jumping into a well here on Monday June 4.

The deceased have been identified as Sharanya and Ramya, said to be childhood friends.

Sharanya was a resident of Karmalu here and was in the 6th semester of her engineering course. Ramya, from Kudroli in Mangalore had finished her second PU and was pursuing a computer course.

It is said that both were close friends and were together since 15 years, and had studied together in Vivekananda College here.

It is learnt that on the night of Sunday June 3, Sharanya's mother told her daughter to learn to live without Ramya, as someday they would have to be separated.

It is said that following the reprimand, the thought of separating from each other led them to end their lives.

Ramya and Sharanya met at the latter's house in Karmalu where they decided to commit suicide, sources said.

Pain of seperation leads to suicide of two girls, simply not making any sense, suicide will add more worry and only people who cannot face reality in life will go for it. I Believe.....
That true friendship continues to grow,
    even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love. That no matter how good a friend is,
    they're going to hurt you,
    every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that. That we don't have to change friends if
    We understand that friends change.

Life is to live we have to live our life and not life to live.

    May everyone understand

This is a bizarre incident in which a grown up mature girl decides to commit suicide with her childhood friend after being advised by the mother that separation of the two was inevitable. Though speculation points out to something much more than just friendship, the police will should get into the root of this and find out the true cause before dismissing this as a case of simple suicide! May the souls of Sharanya and Ramya RIP!!!

Well, all the comments that I have read re: the suicide of these two ladies are not dealing with the real issue!!….Lesbianism or 'gay' as the western world calls it. This kind of behavior is accepted in most of these countries. Since in India, these kind of behaviors, trends are openly unacceptable, most of these so called 'gay' people commit suicide as the general public/communities try not to acknowledge openly....although gay/lesbianism trend maybe in them too!!

Also many have commented about the connection between education and suicide. Suicide has absolutely no connection with education or intelligence!!!

So sad & shocking news. Reason looks silly for the incident, police need to go thorough enquiy. Every problem has there is solution. Problem will not be remain permanently. Specially educated young generation take a problem as challenge & try to face & solve it. Even any reason uneducated one face the problem & solve they dont take extreme step but educated young students nowadays get exicited & dont know how to face the situatuion.

I AM NOT AGREE WITH YOU. BOND RELATIONSHIP DOESN'T COME TO END FOR COMMIT SUICEDE. IT LOOKS SO STRANGE HERE. AFTER POLICE ENQUIRY ALL TRUTH WILL COME OUT.

I WISH IN EVERY SCHOOLS AND COLLEGE SOME ALERT INFORMATION REQUIRED AGAINST THIS.

TEACHERS, LECTURES, PARENTS SHOULD ALERT MORE WITH THEIR CHILDREN.

THEN ONLY WE CAN AVOID SUCH INCIDENT IN OUR DAY TO DAY LIFE.

What someone has to do with this Tragedy? It was their bond and friendship, that was difficult to separate.

The news is very shocking and hard to digest.Brother rakesh educated people will not commit suicide what about the doctors, lawyers doing such acts.Mind is like a butterfly one second is enough to take such step. Modern generation kids got so much liberty they do not think about their parents if we take such steps what will happen to our parents.Childer are become so selfish look at the parents how heart broken they are.

I cannot believe that these two young educated girls should take such a drastic step by ending their lives due to separation of their friendship of 15 years. May the soul of Sharanya and Ramya rest in eternal peace and give comfort to the bereaved family and friends. All their life time achievement of their careers and higher studies have gone futile. They have given sorrow and hardship to their parents. It was indeed a very bad decision taken by both the girls unless there is something behind it. God alone knows.

Over the years some friends become soo close that they wont be in a position to express their love & feeling for each other to the traditional world. Many parents initially over look such relationships but when it turns intense, will be out of their hands. I may sound stange, specially for daijiworld readers but love not only happens between boy & girl but also between girl & girl.

How do you say "Really true friends"?

True friends are the one who can give life to others. In this case both ended their lives, none gave to others.

This is blind friendship. We have seen lovers committing suicide. This is something peculiar.
