Dubai: Belmangar Association Celebrates Decennial Year with Fun-filled Event

Dubai, Jun 10: What happens when you put 170 people in a hall from different parishes of Mangalore along with well-known singers, dancers and performers along with MC Uttam Menezes?

You get a fantastic round of entertainment. And this is what happened at the decennial celebrations of Belmangar Association in the UAE on the Thursday June 7.

After a long day at work, the parishioners and the guests of Belmangar Association, gathered at London Suites Hotel at Al Wasl Club at 9 pm.

The programme began with an invocation of the Almighty and with some good performance by the singers.

The welcome dance was performed by Vidisha and Viola from Pangla parish which enthused the crowd and set the tone for the evening.

What followed was a pure entertainment for everyone gathered!

The performance by Feet Beat Dance Group led by Arun Lobo had the audience tapping their feet. The dance by Melissa and Jewel also was well appreciated by the crowd. The DJ and his team of live singers Russel Sequeira (organ), Asha Pinto, Rinna Lorine, Mario Rego had the guests and parishioners asking for more. Several spot games were based on the knowledge of Belman and general knowledge.

Gladys Monteiro who hails from Belman was honoured on the day for her selfless service she rendered in her capacity in Mumbai as chancellor in the government department.

However, the highlight of the day was the handing over of charge of the president from  Walter Monteiro to Anil Cardoza. Monteiro was appreciated for all the services he rendered as the president of Belmangar association in the past two years. Anil Cardoza, a talented youth from Belman with an impressive track record of handling various projects right through his years at ICYM and currently as a committee member of Belmangar took charge as the president. The association is expected to further their cause in serving the community back home under his leadership.

A moving speech by Walter Monteiro touched the hearts of the audience.

Shetty won the auction for an assortment of gifts, the proceeds from which will be used for helping the needy back home.

The programme followed with a sumptuous buffet and a baila session with live singing by the singers.

    Congratulations to the entire team and the commitee members of Belmangar...truly it was fantastic right from M.C to the food....superb and classic singing by all the singers. but one thing is missing.....where are the photos of M.C and the singers...Daiji please publish their photos as they truly deserve..Best of luck...Belmangar..!
