Search Warrant Against Nithyananda for his Arrest: Karnataka CM

Bangalore, Jun 11 (PTI): Police today issued a search warrant for the arrest of controversial godman Nithyananda, who is reportedly absconding from his ashram at Bidadi in Ramanagara distict.

Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda told reporters after a high-level meeting with top police officials, including DGP Lalrokhuma Pachau, to discuss the clash that took place between the media and his followers at his ashram last week, that Nithyananda would be arrested in two days.

He said he has directed Regional Commissioner Shambhu Dayal Meena to submit a report to the government on the incident and also asked the DC and the Superintendent of Police to secure custody of the Dhyanapeetham premises, collect evidence about its activities and seal the ashram.

The government would hold discussions with the law department to seek cancellation of bail of the self-styled godman, who was granted bail by the Karnataka High Court in connection with a case of rape and criminal intimidation.

Nithyananda is facing criminal charges, including rape, on complaints from some former disciples last year. He was arrested and later released on bail.

On June 8 police had lodged criminal cases against him and his followers for allegedly assaulting a mediaperson during a press conference at his Ashram.

The FIRs were filed on complaints from a regional TV channel reporter and activists of Nava Nirmana Sene in connection with an altercation at the ashram the previous night.

On a counter complaint by two followers of Nithyananda, police also registered two FIRs against the reporter and Sene activists for alleged outrage of modesty, physical assault and threat to life.

The reporter alleged he was assaulted and threatened after he asked a question at a press meet convened by the godman in the backdrop of charges of sexual abuse levelled against him by a US-based woman.

When the authorities and people are confident the Nithyananda is a culprit, how come police commissioner or other higher officers did not take any action so far to arrest him. Are the police busy in attacking rave party goers or busy giving security blankets in ministers house were rave parties are performed.

You quoted a sentence out of context and it is misleading. But, they are all alive and safe.
"Police say the scandal was rooted in tribal rivalry, saying the video was recorded three years ago and then edited in an attempt to implicate the party goers."

I think so far Govt mum on Nitya's 'Karmakaanda' for the reason that it's MLAs already had that episodes for watching porn clips to kissing finally rape! The present Govt has lost moral right deal with such cases when it's own people did and roaming Scot free!!!

The war is just started. His disciples are from high flying politicians, higher officers and IIM educated elite class.A man from SRILANKA(I was told he is hailing from Sri Lanka and his origin& whereabouts should be further investigated)He is hard nut to crack and in the process how story will be twisted watch and wait.He has enough money muscle and political power. All cases pertaining to BIDADI Dyanapeetam should be thoroughly investigated and reopened. All unreported missing, rape, molestation cases should be once again investigated. He has battery of well know layers and certainly,he will take refuge in the name legal process.Anyway,it is appreciated that finally govt swung in to action due KANNADIGAs agitations through out Karnataka.
