Mangalore, Jun 12: A rickshaw driver and a person in a car had a close shave when a tree fell on their vehicles near Kadri Park here on Tuesday June 12.

The tree, an old one, was uprooted due to the rains that lashed the city in the evening.

The tree fell on a Wagon R car driven by a certain Joachim, and on an auto rickshaw driven by Dayanand Nayak.

Though the vehicles were damaged, both Dayanand and Joachim escaped unhurt.

It is said that there were vehicles moving in front of them. When the two vehicles slowed down due to traffic, the tree suddenly fell without any warning.

Kadri police and fire department personnel arrived at the spot and cleared the debris. Traffic was affected for sometime.

It is a commonsense which our corporation people dose'nt have. When a tree or any plants, the branches should equally spread in all directions then only a tree can balance its weight. If tree is naturally is not grown then we should chop the branches and balance it, which our corparation pepole not doing.Near Domino s Pizza at Bendore well a tree is leaning towards the road, one it will fall on some vehice or something happen then corporation people come to cut.

There are so many these type trees on road side and our political leaders corporation people etc.pass through this way everyday but they don't cosider. One more thing if corporation people cut these trees then the enviornment lovers chase them and they dont mind people die and get injured because of these trees but life of a tree is very important them. If they are so much concerned concern they can start planting some good plants where the road is wide enough.

It seems that monsoon may slow down again. It is the right time we concentrate also on rain water harvesting alongside disaster management. The abrupt nature of Indian Ocean water is likely to cause lot of trouble this year including el-nino

Our Almighty God saved both of them and they should be thankful. Such tragedy happens mostly due to rains as the mud becomes loose and uproots the trees without warning. The city should take care of this before the monsoons and it can be prevented to some extent.

Just before the advent of monsoon, the adminsration must trim the branches of trees so that they stay put and dont tumble down. Trees with heavy branches during the monsoon are potential hazards due to heavy winds and heavy rains making them to uproot without notice. God saved two lives and He is great saviour...Any way monsoon and rain is need of the hour and we still expect wish for more rains.
