Bangalore: Yeddyurappa Faces Arrest After Court Rejects Anticipatory Bail Plea

Bangalore, Jun 13 (IANS): In a severe jolt to former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court here Wednesday rejected his anticipatory bail plea in the mining bribery case.

CBI court judge D.R. Venkat Sudarshan also rejected anticipatory bail pleas of Yeddyurappa's two sons, B.Y. Raghavendra and B.Y. Vijayendra, and son-in-law R. Sohan Kumar.

Raghavendra is Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Lok Sabha member from Karnataka.

With the rejection of the plea, the CBI can arrest Yeddyurappa and kin, though his lawyers said they will move the high court for bail.

The mining bribery case is being probed by the CBI on the directive of the Supreme Court.

Yeddyurappa and his kin are accused of taking kickbacks from mining companies in return for favours.

Yeddyurappa, BJP's first chief minister in Karnataka, was forced to quit in July last year over the same issue brought out by the Lokayukta (ombudsman).

He has conducted Operation Kamala with their black money. He has supported Reddys in looting Bellary. He has done land denotifications in favour of his relatives.     I dont think yeddy has nothing to fear, as HC judge probably already ready with his order to reverse the judgement. Yeddy, has already moved his application in HC, which implies there will be a interim stay, then a hearing after 15-20days, after that a judgement that reverses the lower court order. This has been the pattern for most politically sensitive cases.

    It is now clear that BJP is orphaned in Karnataka because till next general election Yeddi will be in Jail.

    Yeddy/Reddy tried their best to establish unethical/immoral BJP govt in Karnataka by hook or crook! In the process they also made enough wealth for generations.But finally due to long hand of law, they were caught and one is in jail another one is scheduled!!!!Finally law took it's own course and may it is a example for ambitious corrupt politicians of all parties.

    Congress thinks that by arresting BJP leaders, they can suppress BJP and earn goodwill of people to win next election. Congress can fool people by doing like this, but they can not fool god. Congress will lose by its own people. This is the punishment from god.

    Already they sensed this in Vidhana Parishat elections. Now they have formed a team to investigate the people who cross voted. I request them to do CBI Inquiry for cross voting.

    If Yedyyurappa deserves 6 months jail, then SMK and Dharm Sing deserves 2 years jail. Arrest your own people first, Yeddy next.
