Karkala, Jun 13: The feast of St Antony's Chapel at Pakala, Manjarpalke, near here, was held on Wednesday June 13. The priests of St Joseph's parish, Belman, have been serving the faithful in their spiritual needs at the chapel since 40 years.

Fr Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues concelebrated the festal Eucharistic celebrations along with Belman parish priest Fr Lawrence D'Souza and other clergies at the chapel on Wednesday morning.

The melodious music of the brass band was the special attraction at the festal celebrations. Nearly 3,000 devotees were present during the Holy Mass. Sweets were distributed to devotees after the festal Holy Mass.

Belman parish council secretary Lydia Aranha and office-bearers were also present on the occasion.

Belman parish council vice-president and St Antony's annual festal celebration committee president Gregory Menezes welcomed the gathering. Fr Lawrence D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

I wish they showed the church from the front - That church looks so grand and inspires the devotees as they enter the main gate. Wonder how they missed showing the church from outside.
St. Anthony please bless us and specially the very needy and the sick - year after year, with their implicit faith, the sick and the needy come to this shrine(Church) and get favours.
It is like any other faith - hindu/muslim/sikh and others who sincerely pray and get favours.
