Mangalore: Fish Mill Security Guard Murder - Police Arrest Two

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (NM)

Mangalore, Jun 17: Ullal police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Vinayak (24), a resident of Car Street, Mangalore and security guard and fish mill operator.

The arrested are identified as Kabir alias Chota Kabir (20), resident of Kotepur and Mannan alias Munaf of Ullal Alekala. Both are said to be his friends. The two allegedly hacked the security guard to death with a lethal weapon from the fish mill, on June 13 night.

Theft provoked murder?

Days before the murder, theft of the parts of machines (plates) was reported at the Indian Fish Mill, Kotepura where Vinayak was working as a security guard.

However, Vinayak knew that the robbery was done by Kabir. In this regard, Ullal police had called the Vinayak for the inquiry. But as Kabir was his friend, Vinayak did not disclose his name to the police.

On the night of the murder, Vinayak and Kabir had quarreled on this issue. During the fight, Vinayak is said to have threatened Kabir that he would disclose his name to the police. In the ensuing fight, Kabir hit Vinayak with the machine plates which he had stolen. Realizing that Vinayak was dead, Kabir brought a bedsheet from his room, used a sack to cover the body and hid it in between the godown.

Kabir with the help of another friend, Munaf, had planned to throw the body into the sea the next day early morning.

However, they awoke late in the morning, and realizing it was already too late; they cancelled the plan of throwing the sack into the water.

It was Vinayak's slippers that helped the police in tracing the culprit. After the murder, Kabir wore Vinayak's pair of slippers and walked home, and on the way, he threw the slippers near his house. The sniffer dogs of Ullal police station directed the police team to the slippers, found close to Kabir’s house the same night.

Police arrested Kabir, and during interrogation, Kabir is said to have revealed the truth.

Munaf already has 15 cases against him in the Ullal police station. However, Kabir has never indulged in any big theft but has been accused in petty thefts.

Ullal inspector Manjunath Shetty, SI Shyam Sunder led the operation.

What a shame and non-sense crime has been done by these two shameless creatures. No wisdom for both of them, for a little pleasure's sake such a innocent young live has been lost. How the police people will act against this this two/case and how long it will take for the Justice. Will " VINAYAK " will come back ? Poor guy fighting for the better life and these two so stupid's have taken Vinayak's life away from this beautiful world. May his soul rest in peace and pray to Almighty to give strength to bare the lose of the loved one.

Whats the point of them being arrested? They will get away. The chap Munaf already has 15 cases against him. This system is all useless. People get away with crime very easily. We are a pathetic society which has no framework to contain crime.
